When the US was Uncle Sam instead of Uncle Scrooge, it provided some amount birth control to poor people globally.

It’s a complete waste. Waste of money and a waste to those that would have benefited.

The Gates Foundation offered to buy them. Instead, they spent another $167,000 to destroy them.

It gets better. In checking the reports, authorities checked and they weren’t even destroyed.

Several organizations including the United Nation’s sexual and reproductive health agency, UNFPA, offered to buy the products. But the Trump administration refused multiple bids for the still usable $9.7 million worth of contraceptives and planned to spend $167,000 to destroy them at a medical waste facility in France over the summer.
