So this woman accidentally put the windshield wiper fluid in her refrigerator. She subsequently pulled it out and served it as juice to the kids at day care. I guess the skull with the cross-bones on the label didn't put her on notice, eh? (If my memory serves me correctly, the label on this kind of item has the poison symbol on it.) What a complete idiot she is.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Hospital officials say 10 children drank windshield wiper fluid after a staffer at Arkansas daycare center mistook the liquid for Kool-Aid.

Laura James, a pediatric pharmacologist and toxicologist at Arkansas Children's Hospital, tell The Associated Press that the daycare staffer put the windshield wiper fluid in a refrigerator by accident after a shopping trip.

That's crazy. I can see this happening though if one person shops, another unloads the groceries, and someone else serves the kids. There are windshield wiper fluids that look like cheap generic juice....

If you're busy, distracted, and you weren't the one who shopped or loaded the fridge and you saw a big bottle of orange or blue crap I can see mistaken it for cheap ass juice.

Hope the kids are all right.

Good point about the different people. I don't see juice coming in containers like that. Yes, the gallon container resembles it, but it's not identical.

My gut said that this was a home day care. I can't imagine my day care (which is at the Jewish Community Center) having a reason to buy windshield wiper fluid. Now if the day care is at a person's home and they are buying stuff for the kids while also shopping for themselves, this could happen. So I wonder how many different people work there.

I'm surprised the kids drank it! I've seen cheap no name brand juice sold in containers very much like the blue one. Especially with the watery wave splash motiff. It looks like refreshing cheap blue juice.

This is why you shouldn't serve your kids cheap ass juice.

Who the **** sorts their groceries by color, anyway? This is astronomically stupid on multiple levels.

Why didn't the first kid say something?

Also, ten kids sounds like alot for a home day care. I think in Wisconsin you could only have 8 per provider.

She probably thought it was pirate juice.

I'd like to know how you CAN'T tell the difference no matter what color it is. Washer fluid has a distinctive smell, at least to me.
I just opened up a bottle of it and I can smell it very strongly three feet away.
Hisses to that day care center!
Pookie

Maybe she had a cold. That purple drank don't have any vitamins you know!

And now their butts are squeaky clean. How about that. Someone came up with a way to take a crap and not have to wipe your butt afterwards. Nothing like good ole' American ingenuity. This should be marketed as a food additive.... Oh wait, it probably is a food additive already. We just don't know it yet.

I saw a hiss from Pookie for the first time! Woo hoo! I agree, Pookster! :2wave:

Try this..

I flipped the original and scaled them to the same size. The plastic container looks exactly the same - even from a slightly different angle.

Two bottles of windshield washer look similar, what's your point?

A better side by side would be a juice container that resembles it.

I think he made the same mistake as that daycare center.

"Splash" is also wiper fluid IC....;)

The day care provider (a woman who provided the services in her own homeo) has voluntarily withdrawn her license.

Thanks Felicity - not being an American and living in Europe, our products are very different. I went by the original pics posted thinking the one called "splash" was a very well known juice drink.
