I have Both, several of each, the point here is what?
I will add I will not be walking around the streets and 1 in the morning looking for trouble, though I have walked my property 5 acres at 3 am because all my alarms and cameras were showing intruders, more than once.
So, in the house the DB or better yet one of my Glocks does fine, go wandering around the property in the middle of the night I always take an AR and a HG, to do so otherwise would be stupid since where I live it takes on an average of 20 minutes for the Sherriff to show up, if you are lucky.

The ones that got shot what possessed them to be there? Maybe a little looting,rioting some arson and perhaps a little bit of killing, (which all comes under peaceful protesting of course) yeah especially the guy with the handgun.

Nope, ran off one first time, kept two others at gun point until the LEO's showed up in the second time, they had one of my ATV's out of a locked barn and were charged and convicted of Felony Theft, got 5 years each. Both are out now, even talked to one a year ago, he was thankful I did not shoot them, which legally I could have, good kid now.
No, not Rambo, but was a Grunt and know when force is needed and not, it is their choice.

The first, I have no idea, the other two were in their twenties. They were just stupid kids from out of the area, those in my area know it would be stupid And rude, since we have helped nearly a dozen to have a chance to change, some did others didn't. We gave them a home to live in fully stocked, paid the utilities, helped them with their needs, more than most would do and did it for Years, my out of pocket was around 50K. It is called being a Good Person, though I scare many due to my background and persona, yet I really am a Good Guy, children and animals just Love me, LOL, the feeling is mutual.
Darn, I don't like tooting my own horn, but it should give you some insight of where in part that I come from, I walk the walk.
 

 
Why I want more rounds:

1. 2nd amendment

2. For self defense and defense of others. It may be one attacker that eat multiple rounds or multiple attackers who can also eat multiple rounds.

3. There is no evidence using standard capacity magazines will cause more jams.

4. I don't get tired firing off two or three rounds at a time. Even if I did, I could always take a break mid magazine. Then I'm not wasting energy reloading.
 

normal capacity magazines are least likely to jam. As a competitive shooter with thousands of rounds downrange, I know that is true

Home defense-a defender is reacting to an attack-rarely has time to grab spare magazines.

You never know how many attackers are present. Limiting your round count is stupid-it is like saying you can only use X gallons of water to put out a house fire

there is no disadvantage to having a normal capacity magazine

that's tired BS that has no basis in fact. We can note that Freud said that those men who fear weapons are sexually immature. I do find it funny that gun banning males seem to constantly talk about penis size.
 

I would have to say I am not the paranoid about being attacked by overwhelming forces. Is it a risk that it might happen. Sure. So is it a risk to get out of bed, take a shower, walk down a sidewalk, while outside get hit by lightning. I also have said I don't care. If it is legal to have a high capacity magazine and you want some go buy it.

For those who answered my questions it seems the majority feel they need it in case they are attacked by a large number of people.
 

I reviewed a case where a mope in california-armed with a small handgun (32 caliber browning) and high on PCP took at least 8 hot 357s in the chest, and two loads of 000 buckshot at close range, and managed to hit at least two cops-maybe three, and reload twice before giving up (later dying)
 

Not sure how a large capacity mag would change the outcome. The event you described was involving police and a person on drugs.

TD. I have ready stated I don't care. If you want a high capacity mag, then by all means get some.
You seem to feel the need to have them. I don't. For me the standard mag is fine.
