People scoffed when Bush said Iraq was bypassing UN inspectors by moving WMDs to Syria...
As world leaders it is your problem. Like I said if you allow a country like Syria to fire chemical weapons whats stopping other countries following their lead?

Precedent was set for this during the Reagan regime.
Funding drug lords in Central America while selling arms to Iran?
I'm not the world police and it is not my problem. Any country can do as they like so long as they do not threaten American sovereignty proper.
If y'all want us to be the world police, fine, America can take over the globe, and you'll all be funding our military. Till then, pay your own way.
And they were destroyed after the gulf war according the head of the Iraq WMD project who defected to the Germans in the mid 1990s... that is a well known fact.
you have bases all over the world already....You run the show.
Then submit to American superiority. Make us the Sovereign of the West. The EU can be like a little State for us, we'll give you guys 2 senators and....I don't know, let's say 12 Representatives. Pay taxes to us, fund our military, serve in our military, and we can be world police.
Lets not get carried away. However you have bases worldwide and your military arm reaches everywhere, the US watches what we do and tells us when to act. Problem with some of you posters on here is that you want to have your cake and eat it, if you don't want to get involved in these kinds of conflicts I suggest you write to your senator and demand that the US military pull back all its forces worldwide and protect only its own borders. Until then you have to accept the world is going to look to the US to deal with these situations and to be honest so far the US government is happy to oblige.
I don't necessarily want those bases. But if you want us to act as World Police, then I think you need to support the role. Pay up, pay homage, and maybe. Otherwise, take care of your own trash. Send Brits to go die in the Syrian sand, I'm tired of sacrificial Americans for conflicts that are not our problem.
Well we have been sending our boys over for a long time as well ( I myself was in Iraq) and if it was up for me we would fully commit ourselves in Syria as well.
Then that's a decision you can make, leave us out of it. Another decade of war ain't gonna do anything to help anything.
You realise that its your government who is calling for this attack ( along with France)? No one is dragging you into anything.
Do they now?

Proof of that statement, because Iraq never did that! Care to rewrite somemore history while your at it. Maybe Cuba attack Pearl Harbor, even better the Cubs won the World Series last year!
...if it was up for me we would fully commit ourselves in Syria as well.
Maybe, or maybe it is because they know what would be coming next--ground troops, I mean "peace keepers".
Toward what end? Who would run a post-Assad Syria? How would the U.S. manage the twin risks of insurgency from the defeated pro-Assad forces and their allies and anti-U.S. terrorism from many of the elements that comprise the anti-Assad forces?
This would require a long commitment, much money, and substantial manpower necessary to pacify the country.

I'm not happy living in a world where we allow dictatorships to fire of WMD's I think we will set a precedent that other radical countries will be more than happy to test if we allow Syria to go unpunished. I also think if we do nothing then the Iraq war would have been a complete waste since we are still allowing dictators in the region to use chemical weapons. Maybe my service tour is Iraq makes me slightly biased when it comes to this but unfortunately this is just how I feel.
The Iraq war already was a complete waste. Boy, your quite the war monger.
It hasn't been confirmed, A and B, they haven't attacked us. We have rules at home you know. First of all, 91% of Americans oppose military action in Syria, secondly, our congress declares war according to our constitution and finally we have to present our case to the UN and if its a strong case, then we will receive authorization, if its not, as is this case for nearly three years now, you need only one permanent member of the security council to veto it, and there have been two vetoes consistently. So following the appropriate channels, the answer is NO!
