He's not wrong. imo

Yes, A Kinzinger will no longer be a politician once his term is up, but he too can hold his head high for standing up for Democracy while taking his oath of office seriously making him a true patriot not only for his military service but also just as important, his service on the 1/6 Committee. He'll be remembered for that.




“If the president truly believed the election was stolen, he is not mentally capable of being president because every piece of evidence shown to him, done by anybody that’s serious besides wackos on the internet, said that the election was legitimate,” Kinzinger told “CBS Mornings” on Friday.


“Donald Trump is responsible,” Kinzinger said. “He lit the flame. He summoned the mob.”


“He knew that these were lies, but he was desperate for anything he could grasp to stay in power because he can’t lose,” Kinzinger said. “Although he is a loser, he doesn’t want to lose and he’d rather throw out democracy than he would and actually honor it.”


“History is going to judge this time,” Kinzinger said. “People are picking sides right now of what side of history they want to be judged on.”
 
Let's face it. If The Donald hadnt lied about the election, Jan 6 never would have happened.

Period. He has blood on his hands. He doesnt give a shit, but he still does.

No, Congress performs many functions, and one of the most important ones is a check on the abuse of the executive branch. Do you disagree?

Furthermore, this is not an impeachment hearing. Not sure what right wing "news" source you heard that one on, but you should stop listening to them.

I don't think there was an insurrection attempt on Jan6. I think it was a politically motivated riot on the order of the George Floyd riots and others by BLM and Antifa in 2020.

When he's been charged with the crimes he committed, if any.
Also, it's not a show trial.
It's a necessary examination of a threat to our democracy.

Who wants a mob to attack the Capitol, yet offers to authorize thousands upon thousands of National Guard troops to protect the Capitol on Jan. 6th? Who sends his people- like Patel- to Pelosi, to Bowser- to get them sign off on protecting the Capitol on Jan. 6, when his grand plan to to have a mob attack the very same Capitol? Only to have them outright REFUSE protection when intelligence unequivocally indicated an attack was probable on Jan. 6th?
How gullible can people be, to believe a judgement when only ONE side is presented, and manipulated at that?

There are show trials and show trials.
Some are just bullshit trumped up charges for pure political reasons, and some are because there are serious matters that the public needs shown.

This, IMO, is the latter.

Not entirely, but mostly. It's a happy coincidence for the democrats that investigating Jan 6th is both what the people want and also of political benefit to them.

Even upon learning that Trump assembled the crowd, sent them to the senate, never lifted a finger to stop the violence, egged them on with a tweet about Pence betraying them, was motivated to have them stop the count so he could overturn the election and calls the incident one of the greatest acts of patriotism in American history?

He told them to march there peacefully. He told them to fight like hell when they got there.

Who knew the Capitol needed protection? Trump knew.

It’s not an impeachment any more. It’s laying the groundwork for a criminal trial.
The jackass is partially responsible for the events of January 6. That is a fact. As Lursa said here, had he accepted the results and graciously conceded the election to the victor none of that would have happened. He is guilty of seditious conspiracy as well as the mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Americans because of his failed response to the pandemic. He is a selfish liar, a bigot and egotist. Yet some people here still lick his boots.
To be clear, I don’t hate conservatives or their politics.

We have something nearly as good, it's called digital media, it actually records pictures and sounds for future viewing so anyone can watch. There are even pictures and words from a few of the festivity goers themselves, they flat out tell us the president invited us here, no time machine needed. You should check it out sometime, they even used it in the first hearing.
