This is kindergarten stuff. It’s the first thing you learn after safety. If the woods are thick the ranges will be shorter. Heck real hunters will often opt for a shotgun when the woods are thick and ranges likely short. Those that choose the rifle in the thick woods scenario often opt for a heavier bullet to reduce deflection from vegetation. Again grade school. If it’s open country then accuracy is more important and flat shooting cartridges are better since the ranges could be longer. Grade school shit man. How you described things smacks of cut and paste. Like you are a search engine educated hunter lol.I was asked a ridiculously over general question.
If you knew the first thing about hunting you would know that the best tool for hunting deer in wide open country is going to be different then the best tool for hunting deer in dense riparian forest, for example.
the fact that you didn't know that says a lot.
I get the impression that I am talking to a bunch of suburban folks who think gun culture is cool and want to be part of it, but don't really understand.
Just as you might own several bolt actions to cover short and long range hunting scenarios there are AR’s that cover it all.
My Colt accurized rifle is capable of half, yes HALF minute of angle 5 shot groups at 100 yards. This puts her in the elite upper bolt action accuracy department. Stock rifle BTW. Actually have 3 SUB 1/2 MOA groups from this rifle.
