‘Catastrophic' event at Hanford prompts emergency response

Not shocking. Eastern WA might as well be the moon.

Increasingly even for those based in Seattle. Part of it is the the east is considered a sleepy backwater where nothing important happens , and part of it is that the east tends to be a lot more conservative and the Seattle liberal elite try as best they can to ignore that they exist. That said the Columbia River region is more Southern than Eastern.

I hope the early estimates of the size of the leak are not as grossly inaccurate as the early estimates of Deepwater Horizon leak.

Being that the early estimate here is of a leak still inside a containment area and of a material that has not been released into the environment, the comparison to Deepwater Horizon is just more hyperbole.

NOAA....NASA....Department of Homeleand Security....the Military...
Obungle and the EPA have infected many agencies with their questionable Climate Change "science".

"Science" and ideology (social policy experiments) it would seem.

And all the while gutting the military both on spare parts, replacement weapon systems (many are older than the troops manning them), withdrawing from the international stage, and emboldening US adversaries (Russia, Syria, Iran, ISIS - they all laugh at Obama and the US now), and escalating concerns from historical US allies about the US's dependability.

I certainly hope you're right. The event was not mentioned on last night's Evening News With________
