Dems need pay attention to what this signals to them the next 4 yrs and tRump will turn a deeper shade of orange at the thought of a progressive becoming mayor of NY especially because he won't be able to pronounce Mamdani's name.

We need to nominate Bernie but a young Bernie. There are so many young people that simply don't give a shit if the candidate cannot inspire them to hope, and they don't have much to be hopeful for at this point.

Whoever that person is will need to step up quick though. I would say AOC but I don't think enough men in this country will vote for a women for president.

This is a big win for progressives. Cuomo looked like the favorite, but his skeletons sunk him.

He will try to have Mamdani deported.

Londonistan in NYC.

We'll see how the preferential voting insanity sets up the field for the final voting in November.

Joe the Street Cleaner may end up #2. And he's not even in it -- not as of right now anyway.

NYC isn't representative of anything that's going to sweep the nation. Plus Cuomo was such damaged goods that this was his Hail Mary to try to become relevant again. He's done for good now.

It's Londongrad not Londonistan, that Russians own that city.

As they should have. Along with being a corporate-bought hack who stopped believing in anything but expediency to retain power long ago.

There's been much talk here about how Dems have lost the plot. Bernie and AOC have filled a void left by the generally silent Dems in Congress and have been met with large approving crowds. All of this signals that voters are hungry for significant change and Dems need to do better, much better reading the tea leaves if they hope to regain a House majority to stop whoever will be the next king of the Republicans.

What the Hell is this steaming thought-terminating racist, Islamophobic horseshit you are trying to serve us, Tangmo? Are you going to tell us he smells like curry or cardamom next?

Jesus ****ing Christ, dude.

You know, there are times when my estimation of a person drops by a slight degree or two when they say something that shocks me (and occasionally raises by a notch or two when that shock is positive). My estimation of @Tangmo just came crashing down like the Hindenburg after having read that. Maybe it is because I am the son of an Iranian immigrant and my hackles were raised a bit higher than they otherwise would have been, but my God, that was disgusting.

Mamdani was most notably endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), both democratic socialists who’ve ridden populist waves in recent years.

Mamdani’s campaign offered a relentless focus on pocket-book issues: He promised to freeze the rent for millions of rent-regulated tenants in the city, make city buses free, provide free child care, and establish a city-run grocery store in every borough,

Both good people.

All wonderful things.

I mean, Cuomo is not the best candidate after his sex scandal, but electing a Muslim full-blown anti-semite to mayor in NYC, a city that was attacked by Muslim terrorists a generation ago, is electoral suicide and means total stupidity. At least on the part of Democrats in NYC.

There's still hope that for the November general election, there's some common-sense emerging, and that anti-Mamdani-forces coalesce around a single opposition candidate, but NYC is 60-80% Democratic, so this suicide mission will sadly continue and he'll be elected Muslim mayor, just like so many other retarded cities, mostly in the UK that have been taken over by this religious military doctrine and its footsoldiers.

Muslims don't even need to carry out terror and suicide attacks on their own these days to destroy western society, because today it's coming from within our own societies, the Dems and Leftists, who are doing the deed for them.

What a sad development.
