Zimbabwe forces foreign firms to give up majority stake

I honestly believe Mugabe just sits and smokes crack all day, coming up with this bull. He is out of his mind, has been for years. The country is run by a bunch of corrupt morons. I'm really suprised no ones shot him, I wish someone would.

Unfortunately I don't think he does - he's a perfect example of the "old man" syndrome in Africa. Someone gets into a position of authority and is quickly seduced by absolute power and the "old man" cult that is found in much of African society means that by dint of age his wisdom and authority is not to be questioned.

I think another 100 years will see Africa leave this sad period behind. Whether you like South Africa's Mandela or not - he is the one African leader to voluntarily engage in the political process (once he was allowed to) and then leave power behind.

Nelson Mandela was, and still is, a great man.
