The fact of the matter is Dr Ironfist is too popular in his own rights. He was already world renowned when Mr "Servant of the People" was still in diapers. WBO heavyweight boxing champion Vitaly Klitschko has an impressive record of 47 fights, 45 wins, 41 by KO and 2 loses. It is not surprising his subsequent political career after retiring from boxing was stellar. He is at present the Honourable Mayor of Kyiv.

Problem is stars have difficulty sharing the limelight. And Volodomyr "Call me Little Panzer" Zelensky is no exception. There can be only one star in the world, let alone Ukraine, and that star has to be Zelensky! Rising stars like Dr Ironfist or Ukrainian General in Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi have to be nipped in the bud before they outshine Little Panzer.

Which may explain a bizarre swipe at Dr Ironfist yesterday from Zelensky. Zelensky charged Dr Ironfist with tardiness in setting up Zelensky's "Invincibility Centers" for the cold shivering citizens of Kyiv deprived of electricity by Putin's drones. That sounds outright unfair to me. Exactly what was Dr Ironfist supposed to do? He is Mayor, not flak commander. And Putin has not been cooperative with Kyiv authorities in energy management.

Little Panzer could have blamed Putin. Everyone blames Putin. So why the low blow to Dr Ironfist?

In rare public spat, Zelenskiy criticises Kyiv mayor over emergency centres

What the heck is this commentary.

You are literally the first to ever say that. Yesterday. And now today.

Creativity is sorely lacking on the pro Russia side of the aisle. The names Putin and Russians have been called can fill a book. One has to flatter Zelensky every now and then

All is not rosy in the Kyiv corridors of power.
I mean their nation has been invaded and a bunch of their citizens are dead, of course all isn't rosy.

There's really no need to call Putin names, just naming him is enough for anyone even vaguely aware of events to have a bad opinion.

That is the external enemy. There is also the internal infighting.

Russians are demonised daily to the last man, woman, dog and cow. Putin is fair game, but what about the demonisation of the average Joe Russian?

I don't think there has ever been a human organization that didn't have some kind of internal infighting, however civil.

I think demonizing your average Russian is a bit overdone.
Sure, they hold some blame, but they're living in an authoritarian state so it's less than if they had democracy.

Yeah. “Putin” is going to be the same level of epithet as “Hitler” soon. If not already.

They support sledgehammers. It’s like asking if ISIS members should be lumped in with their leaders.

I don't think this is true. I think most observers of the Ukraine war have a very informed, nuanced opinion about Russians in general. Most people understand that the primary villain in all of this is Putin himself. I think people are disappointed to see the Russian people put up so little resistance to Putin's regime. If the Chinese and Iranians can protest against their government when the penalty of doing so is near-certain death, there's no reason why the Russians can't do more to oppose Putin's regime.

We are treating Russians humanely. Russians are not being demonized. Russians are being criticized. The Russian government unjustly and illegally invaded Ukrainian territory in an attempt to conquer or control Ukraine. They did this in an attempt to reconstitute the Russian empire. In the process they are murdering innocent civilians in Ukraine. It's wrong. It's totally wrong and it is incumbent upon the rest of the global comm unity to criticize for its actions. Russia deserves to be criticized. They do not deserve to be demonized in a way that strips the recognition of their humanity away from them, but they do deserve to be criticized.

I think though what bugs Russians most, and what bugs most Russian shills is not this notion they are being demonized. I think it's the general feeling of a lack of respect. I think Russians feel disrespected. And this is what motivates the complaints of Russo-phobia, not this accusation of demonization that people are throwing about.

But no one is entitled to respect. You have to earn it, and the Russians have not earned it. And Russia is not a superpower anymore, so this notion that they should be treated like a superpower is ridiculous. Russia is a pathetic shadow of its former self and there's nothing wrong with acknowledging that. And criticizing Russians for their support of an illegal invasion is not Russo-phobia or demonization of the Russian people. The Russian government, in tandem with the implicit support of the Russian people, launched an aggressive, unjust invasion of their neighbor because they lost control of the Ukrainian government. And the same people who feign shock at the Russians being directly criticized are also the same people who deny or minimize the atrocities Russian soldiers committed in Ukraine. Don't think we don't notice.

And Russia is not a superpower anymore

Agreed with everything you said... except maybe the above... at least to the extent of ability to obliterate the world of human life, Russia is still one of 2 superpowers as far as I know.

They are the ones fighting to occupy another country. The lack of sympathy shouldn't shock anyone.

The Russian Federation is fighting to liberate oppressed Russian minorities in Ukraine

I wish you were right, unfortunately I have read too many posts to the contrary.

This would never happen in Russia!

The state would have murdered everyone involved a LOOOONG time ago.

Who cares?

A country goes on a senseless genocidal invasion of another with worldwide negative consequences including bombing civilian infrastructure and I'm supposed to care about the average joe living there looking bad?

The average Joe Ukrainian is getting their electricity grid bombed and their homeland invaded. I care about that.

The Russian Federation is fighting to liberate oppressed Russian minorities in Ukraine

See even you think that this is Ukrainian territory. Shilling Russia's flimsy justifications is always funny.
