They never mention that on the news. If you are planning on living past about the year 2050, make other plans. The reason why, apart from CO2, is methane. The release of methane is going up just as CO2 is. And it is at least 86 times more potent of a greenhouse gas than CO2. I did happen to see a scientist on TV who was honest about it. Unlike EVERY other scientist our government has allowed to speak on any program about the matter. This scientist was on a documentary by Bill Nye called "Global Meltdown." This scientist had been studying the topic for about 15 years. The conclusion he came to caused him to quit his tenured professorship at some university and start preparing for doomsday. Which he said could happen in as little as 20 years. Because without a doubt what is going on will have an exponential effect. Which s that the worse things get, the faster they will get even worse.

Nothing is really being done to stop what is going to happen. Because as has been said, "A rich person would sell you the rope you are going to use to hang him with if he thought he could make a buck." For all the deniers out there, I have some graphs for you to deny. The first one is methane release. Despite all the thawing tundra or evaporating methane hydrate ice on the sea floor, around 60% of what is shown is being released by humans.

That won’t make us go extinct. It just means that people like me will have to figure out how to make money off everybody else by purchasing land in locations that, decades from now, will be paradise as a result of climate change.

That's all well and good until the world goes totaly tits-up and people storm your land and either kill you or make you a slave.
When everything goes to shit they won't care about land ownership.

Did the people in Mad Max worry about tresspassing on land?
Nope, they stormed in with a butload of guns and people who were complete psycho's who managed to make a guitar shoot flames for 10 feet.

I'd like to see your reaction to finding 5 trucks full of people who will happily eat you for lunch bearing down on you.

The people making money off extinction should be the first to die.

I agree. But Mad Max? That is wildly optimistic.

I know.
None of those guys looked like engineers for a start, they were all completely bonkers.

Engineers are not completely bonkers?

My reaction would be to dispatch the 20 trucks full of people to eat them for lunch.

You're a warlord now?
After the extinction, yes, I will be a warlord.

What do you plan to be after the extinction? Migrant labor? Or, do you have your eyes set on loftier goals like fuel truck driver or that one dude who plays a flame throwing guitar?

Given the film was set in Australia and I live in the UK and after the apocolypse I have a feeling travel between the two places will be a whole lot more dificult I'm going to bet that I'm going to be doing something in the UK.
How do you plan to become a warlord exactly?
Are you a secret Ninja or member of the special forces?
Maybe a cult leader with a legion of dedicated followers who will gladly sacrifice themselves for you?

I figure the easiest way will be to use my COVID vaccine-given powers of magnetism to Shock and Awe the survivors of the Extinction. That said, a successful warlord is a provider, so I will provide in the future by securing resources and knowledge ahead of the extinction: land and knowledge of how to cultivate crops at scale, small to mid scale hydrocarbon fuel processing, and of course the manufacture of ammunition. As they say, us engineers shall inherit the Earth...

I'd be willing to offer you employ after the extinction but the UK will likely be amongst the first to go extinct due to its limited geography and climate.

Our limited geography and climate has sustained people just fine for thousands of years now.
How do you think we managed in the Middle Ages?

You tell me, how did you survive the climate-driven Extinction during the Middle Ages? (I wasn't even aware that there was one, but obviously there must have been since the UK apparently survived it.)

More and more, participating in political forums is just doomscrolling.

Maybe it's always been that way and I'm only just now really noticing.

Are you talking about the original Mad Max or the new one they made. I never saw the new one. Neither do I want to. From what I have seen, most of the time that they do a remake of an older movie, it sucks ass compared to the original.

Nope.

We do live in interesting times, though.

I'm not familiar with the term "doomscrolling." Would you like to explain it and your point?

What are you referring to? The Little Ice Age? That was nothing comparable to what human civilizations and life on earth face now
