Honestly, the the discussion about transsexual persons in sport is so wildly overblown that it'd be laughable, if the propaganda pushing that hype wasn't so effective.

The short of it is, Trump/MAGA/GOP have repeatedly demonstrated that they are willing to limit the freedoms of women, for their own political or possibly other ends.

Or maybe the Democrats should not have supported pouring billions upon billions of dollars (with no discernible gain for the US) into active support for genocide. What did they think would happen? That genocide is just some trifling matter that people would only be "mildly annoyed about" but still vote for regardless?

Considering Trump promised to do the same, and **** everything else up as well, they should have recognized the lesser of two evils.

Now the leopard is eating their face: the situation is Gaza has gotten worse and the economy, human rights and rule of law in America are also tanking and they're suddenly remorseful. What did they think would happen? Trump told us he'd do all this from the get go.

When you're talking about your government's active support for genocide it's pretty understandable if some people can't stomach that "lesser evil." It's more or less classic trolley problem ethics; do you flip the switch and actively participate in the killing of two people, or do nothing and passively let four people die?

Even if I'd personally lean towards the more utilitarian response, I'd certainly blame the Democratic administration for metaphorically killing those two people (read; tens of thousands) long before I'd blame any voters for whom this was a moral stench that they couldn't just hold their nose and ignore. What the hell did Biden think was going to happen? America got literally no discernible benefit from pouring those $17+ billion dollars into Israel's military coffers and the turn-off for many liberal voters was blindingly obvious, so why the ---- did they do it?

None of what ou say is incorrect, but rather than discussing the Gaza problem on its own, I'm considering it in relation to the thread topic.

In that respect taking a moral stand and risking an even more pro Israel president was a self-defeating move.
