A Wall Street Journal analysis of daily financial statements issued by the Treasury Department found government spending since the inauguration is $154 billion more than in the same period in 2024 during the administration of former President Joe Biden.

DOGE claims cuts of $150 billion so far, but the Journal analysis found those efforts have yet to affect the bottom line.

More evidence that DOGE is a scam.

Well, duh. When have they ever cared about spending?

What we really need to do is slowly raise taxes until the last three Republican presidents' tax cuts are gone, but then what kind of American would vote to actually pay for what we spend? The average American is far too selfish and self-deluded, so they would prefer to receive every last benefit they receive and simply cut other stuff, or better yet, mortgage their children's future (because debt is going to become a very big problem. We've passed 1:1 debt:gdp ratio, and of course Trump is doing everything to hamper growth for at least a generation.

Meanwhile, the Republicans? It's the usual: a big dumb self-destructive show of cutting spending that's going to cost us more in the long run in all sorts of senses - hell, RFK Jr. is bringing back measles! DOGE canceled AIDS-prevention funding! DOGE canceled programs designed to fight and contain Ebola in Africa. Etc etc etc - as a front for more tax cuts for the richest.

And the shitbag idiots cheer. They actually cheer.

We put the richest man in the world in charge of saving money.
Yes. Lifelong silver-spooner Trump can clearly identify with the coupon-clipping Americans who voted him into the oval office. 🙄

More spending is good, yes!

It's nice that the government hasn't cut spending; that could hurt the economy.

Maga is so full of crap just slap a couple of buns on 'em and make a crap burger.
