The lesser of two evils is still evil. And you're throwing out atheists not because they are "evil" but because you THINK they are evil; all the while supporting our descent into hell. Good job.
I never said atheist are evil. Why put words in my mouth? Is your argument so weak that is the only way you can present it?
I'll vote for whoever matches me best on the issues, but I'd actually really prefer my candidates to be atheist. With religious candidates you always have to worry if they'll place their god or religion above their constituents. Some politicians will even go out of their way to make sure you know their god comes first. Their sole and only responsibility should be to the American people.
You said you wouldn't vote for atheists because they don't have a moral compass and when I pointed out that others already in office often lack the same thing, you claim you have to vote for the lesser of two evils. Making the phony Christians the lesser evil and Atheists the greater evil.
Can you remember the things you wrote a few posts back?
Your interpretation of my post is flawed.
I'm getting tired of trying to have adult discussions with people that just come here for childish bickering, have a nice day.:2wave:It's exactly as you said, if you meant something else you should have written something else. IYO Atheists compose the greater evil and you cannot support them against already established and demonstrated evil because somehow being an atheist will be worse than the liars and cheats already in office. Your argument, not mine.
No, atheists have no morals.
Religion or the lack there of has never been important to me with any political candidate. It is his views on the issues and whether I can trust him, if I feel he will do honor to the office and do the best job. The same goes for political parties or the lack there of too, party affiliation is not important, it is the individual running.
No moral compass, no vote.

why do you have to believe in God to have a moral compass? Most of the atheists I know, both conservative and liberal (and I know quite a few), definitely have moral compasses. And I think we agree that there are many, many believers who have none.
So insult and running away is all you got? Thought so. That was your argument, you made it here. Your argument doesn't seem all that sound when taken on whole is all. Sorry that you didn't like your own argument.
Sometimes I get burned out on the thought of a "god" whatever that is. All the suffering in the world at times makes me think their just can't be a caring God so I quit my morning prayer. After a while things start seeming bleak though so I start to pray again and immediately things are better so it works for me.
We have already voted for several virtual atheists. Hillary goes to church 2-3 times every election cycle...and thats the extent of her religious belief. Obama went to church in Chicago because thats what the popular black folk did in Chicago. When I thought about doing this poll, I thought that most Americans still wouldn't. But the poll I looked up to post this has apparently changed that information:
Majority Of Americans Would Vote For An Atheist For President (POLL)
I would like to ask as a DP poll though, would you vote for or consider voting for an Atheist in any public office, not just the Presidency.
As a discussion point, I believe there are six states that do not allow Atheists to hold public office, even though that is against the US constitution.
Also as an Atheist, my vote is naturally yes.
What does an atheist base his morals on besides mans law?
A "like" and oh so true..particularly in the land of Islam.......here....not much of a problem, IMO.

You just don't seem to want honest conversation so I have no time for you, not an insult but an observation.
You don't have to believe in Jesus to agree with the golden rule

I have a theory on that. To me if you adhere to Christian values you are by default a Christian, you just don't realize it. I don't buy this crap that you have to accept Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior, blah blah blah.
I suspect it works for you because when you start to pray you believe it'll help and you (not some deity) make things happen (instead of wallowing in self pity) ...
