And that's just the ones still on the menu these days. If you ever look at recipes and names for food that doesn't get plated up as much these days, there are some real corkers.

Of the modern ones - I'd add stargazy pie, laverbread, stinking bishop, dead-man's arm to the list.

It's a binary choice food, no middle ground whatsoever.
I'm a huge fan and it makes beef gravies taste more beefy. Even if you absolutely hate marmite, put half a teaspoon into your cream and peppercorn sauce to go on top of your steak.
