Decades ago...yes. In fact, I came very close. On the other hand, I did what I could to help other people die for their country. Was listening to Michael Smerconish and he was talking about things one would be willing to die for. Some of the responses were spouse, children, family, but the one he focused on was one respondent who said he would die for his country. Michael was intrigued about it enough that he made it todays poll question at his website.
As a veteran, it was always assumed that by serving you were willing to put your life on the line for the concept of dying for your country. We did dangerous things at the behest of our government, and many have been in combat and faced real threats up close and personal. Some vets may disagree with that concept.
For the DP community in general, would you be willing to die for your country? I realize this has different meanings to different people, so feel free to write out your thoughts about it.

I went with yes but only if we were invaded. I'll let the eighteen year olds have the glory of going overseas to fight the battles for, for whatever it is we're there for?Was listening to Michael Smerconish and he was talking about things one would be willing to die for. One of mine but I enjoyed The Formula even more.My favorite Scott movie.
I liked that one as well. But you never see it on tv anymoreOne of mine but I enjoyed The Formula even more.
Hadn’t heard of it before. Just pulled up a trailer, looks interesting. I’m a Brando fan, so that’s a bonus. One of mine but I enjoyed The Formula even more.
You never see it anywhere. I don't even remember it being promoted. I think big oil had something to do with it. Best line was by Brando as Adam Stiefel head of an oil company. When told he could raise prices by a certain amount he said only raise it a little bit. His lackey says they can blame it on the Arabs. He comes back with "We are the Arabs". I'll never forget it.I liked that one as well. But you never see it on tv anymore

I loved it. I think big oil had something with it being poorly promoted. Brando is really good as the oil company ceo.Hadn’t heard of it before. Just pulled up a trailer, looks interesting. I’m a Brando fan, so that’s a bonus.
Thanks
It’s vague intentionally. Can you imagine a situation where you would willingly sacrifice your life for the sake of your country? The question is far too vague.
Die for my country to what end?

Your devotion is inspiring.I might die for my wife if it came down to that …
You'll never know until you're put to the test.Your devotion is inspiring.
I don’t need to be “put to the test” to know. You'll never know until you're put to the test.
