World's first out Prime Minister to take office

You know, I remember a time when Conservatives preached about fiscal responsibility, balancing the budget, and responsibility. The perverting of Conservative ideals through the greed and corruption that led to the banking crisis here in America is not confined to just America, though. It seems to be a worldwide phenomenon. It is not Conservatism that failed, but the leaders, both in America and elsewhere, who abandoned it to pursue the task of driving our nation, and its financial system, off a cliff. As a result, the Liberals have taken over. The Conservative ideals that were abandoned by its leaders will be blamed, and the damage done will last a generation.

Conservatism, though, will make a comeback soon, sans Neocons, as the "hive mentality" is just not part of human nature. Throughout history, Liberals have gone too far with their agenda, and the result has always been a swing of the pendulum back the other way. Obama is not exception.

The purpose of this thread is not to trash Obama and the Liberals, nor to smear them, nor to conduct character assassinations on them, but to merely point out that they are on the wrong side of history. This will eventually be borne out, starting in 2012. When that day comes, Conservatives had better be ready, and the party clean, with no trace left of the disastrous false ideology that permeated it in the last decade. If that is done right, then things will once again look bright for the Conservative movement. After all, nobody in their right minds truly want the government to be our nanny. As Barry Goldwater, and Davy Crockett before him, once said, "A government powerful enough to give you everything you want, is also powerful enough to take away everything you have".

I'm sorry, what do you have to back you up that the liberals will be kicked out in 2012, or so? how do you reach that? If I remember correctly, liberals ruled the white house essentially straight between 1932 and 1968, with the voters electing a democrat 7 times, and a fairly liberal republican 2 times. It could happen again.

As I see it, 1932, where Roosevelt got elected and started the New Deal was the beginning of a liberal era in government. 1968, where Nixon won by being hard on crime and hippies, was the end of the era, and the beginning of a new, conservative era. I believe that era ended in 2008, and we'll see a new era last untill about 2048.

Ronald Reagan ended that though, and a new period of Conservatism ensued, beginning in 1980. My contention is that Obama will be much like Carter, in that he will attempt to do too much. Whether he lasts only one term, or makes it through 2 terms, the result will be the same - The pendulum going too far to the left, and eventually events warranting a swing back to the right, or possibly to the center.

The way I see it is that the Republicans are starting to grow a pair of balls and are pulling their heads out of their asses as we speak. In 2010 we will probably see another Republican Revolution like in the 90s and in 2012 (providing the economic conditions become worse) we will probably have a Republican President again.
