Work for Amnesty

I'm sure I'm not the first to propose this, but even if this idea is old and has been dismissed, I really like it. Here's my specific idea:

-Give all illegal immigrants conditional amnesty. This allows them to have a two year visa.

-For the first two years, they have to have a job or have to be looking for a job. If they're unemployed for more than a few months, they're out.

-If/When they start working, they are taxed higher than normal citizens. These taxes go into a fund.

-If they decide to leave the country within these two years or have to leave (due to unemployment or if they are found guilty of a felony) they get a percentage of their fund sent back home with them. This ensures that they actually leave and gives them an opportunity to have a decent life upon returning to Mexico or wherever they came from. The rest of the money from the fund goes to social security, maybe? Or it could go to fund a fence on the border.

-After two years, they get a new visa and are afforded more security. They're still not citizens, but they'll be on the right path. The additional taxes on their paychecks from the last two years will be paid back to them in increments.

So that's pretty much my idea. I've been thinking about this and even though it's radically different than what I've heard of being proposed, it seems like it would be a much better solution. It gives illegal aliens a reason to come forward without letting them off the hook for being in our country illegally. Anybody have thoughts/suggestions?
 
Work for amnesty? wtf, no.

Work for citizenship, now that I can agree with, and we have similiar programs.
 
I think we ought to give amnesty, and citizenship, to any illegal with a useful degree in the maths, sciences. Goodness knows we're bleeding them to China already. We could use some replacements.
 
How about no amnesty and deporting illegals ASAP?
 
No amnesty period. If an illegal is caught he or she should be thrown in jail for the minimum of 6 months like the law allows since the first illegal immigration offense is a misdemeanor and then deport the illegal back to his or her country and store their biometric data in a data base used to deny that individual any future entry into the US. This would stick in their heads that getting caught is not a just a free bus ticket home. If they want to try to be legal then they can do what everyone else across the world does who wants to come and stay here legally.

I'm all for compassion, however the numbers have simply overwhelmed us. Common Sense should prevail here. We need a solid 5 year halt on all Immigration and a heavy reduction in Visitors,Students etc.
 
Well, it has become more difficult to immigrate to the United States legally, and on top of that, it's harder to get and maintain vistation visas and student visas. That's one reason why China is stealing high quality immigrants away in its new Great Leap Forward in academics.

Chinese scholars and students are having a harder time getting, and staying here, and China has recently enticed them to stop trying.

That's sort of the basis of my idea. I know most posters just say "no amnesty period," but what are they proposing? If it's broken, fix it. We're going to have to come up with some plan that allows illegal immigrants already here the opportunity to become productive citizens. I just don't see why that plan can't be devised to keep the good ones and send home the bad ones.

Maybe that's because a lot of the 12-20 million plus illegals in the country came in on visas.
 

Whenever someone proposes some ridiculous scheme to amnesty unwanted uninvited illegal border jumpers, like this one, my first thought is always, 'how does this person. obviously an amnesty democrat, benefit from giving amnesty to illegals'. Let's see. We somehow can't round up and deport 20 million unwanted uninvited illegals but we can somehow keep track of all these conditionally amnestied unwanted uninvited illegals and then deport the ones who don't perform? Who keeps track of the unwanted uninvited conditionally amnestied illegals? Oh yeah, the marxist/socialist amnesty democrats in Congress and the WH will be glad to. How many more hispanic anchor baby future democratic voters can 20 plus million unwanted uninvited illegal border jumpers breed in two years? Then the unwanted unvited illegal border jumpers get another two years to breed more hispanic anchor baby future democratic voters? What a plan.

China is still losing plenty of it's most talented people to immigration, it is not gaining much in permanent immigration to China, generally just expats staying for a few years.

What China is doing is educating a large number of people with usefull degree's, and its high school students (outside of the poorer area's) are spending 13 hr a day in study 7 days a week
