Has Wokeness become fanatical?

On one of the cable news networks (I can't remember which, since I often switch channels), some liberals were talking about how the word "woke" has never been clearly defined and is beginning to get a generally negative reaction from the public. They were suggesting that maybe it should be dropped in favor of some other word, although they didn't mention any alternatives.

I have heard a lot of people complaining about it, but not any consistent definition of the term.

It seems to be "social innovations I am personally uncomfortable with" but those particular social innovations that cause discomfort seem to vary from person to person.

Maybe "woke" was well meant in the beginning, but now it has become fanatical
 
@ wokeness in Germany:

English speakers are lucky that they do not have to mention all the time whether one speaks of female students or male students or both.
In German it is like this:

Student = male student - and the generic form - Plural: Studenten
Studentin = female student - Plural: Studentinnen

So you may choose:

Studenten und Studentinnen
or
Studentinnen und Studenten
or
Student/innen
or
Student:innen
or
Student*innen
or
Studentx

Yeah, you get various media figures doing that here too, but very few people actually live in that space. Most just view it from a computer.

That's what you are concerned about? People (at least in the US) started realizing that was wrong in the early 90s.
 
It's a term used in the black community to stay woke to the political and social issues affecting black people.

MAGA's started hating it. Now it's a big ****ing deal.

They're using it wrong on top of it, don't understand it, and are making it into another "hate" symbol. If they had a real agenda, one that actually helped people in this country they could drop the hate politics but they don't so, it will continue.

Doing it while performing dances trivializes others. If you want to wear a sombrero while going about your day, I don't see a problem with that.
 
There's a reason that the Godless people of society have gone off the deep end. The answer is found in 2 Thessalonians 6-7.

When you accept that God and Satan are real, many insane things make sense.

I'm sure the definition is in queue. Right after someone on the left is successfully able to define what is a woman. Maybe wokeness is the inability to define things anymore. So, anyone woke will not be able to define "woke."

There you go, that is woke. Where a white A takes offense over how white B is using a sombrero, and Hispanic C could care less.
