Its 192 days - I have used both figures and the 192 is the correct one.

the governor plan on sitting down with them? them picking up more of the costs i don't believe will be a problem...the problem has been the governor deciding he was going to ram this down their throats, and strip them of rights...if the governor puts the stop to this bill, and sits down with the unions, this will be over real quick.Where's it in writing?

ok.... so what happens with the teachers who were not liars, and went to work those days? with schools closing over this, are they to be compensated the same as the liars?
how long is the current school year there, how many days are they allotted for closed days from snow, and idiot teachers pretending to be sick?

You will have to ask each school district how they will handle that. I can tell you from my experience that when we have work stoppages, a very small number of scabs went in and worked - usually for a day or two and then were sent home and told to stay home. At the end of the school year, those scabs DID NOT get one dollar more than anyone else. Their annual yearly salary was honored to the penny as was the rest of us.

He has argued that this is about balancing the budget instead of explicitly stating that this is a long term political reform.

care to discuss what i said without spewing garbage? yes j, i'm a union member, and proud of it. i've said it once, i'll say it again, you know jacksquat about unions, or how they work...you have preconceived notions, plus what you have been spoon fed by those that oppose unions.Come on Greenie, you know better than this. Being a union member yourself, you know the golden rule, Never negotiate from a position of weakness. Right now the Gov. holds the cards.

So they actually did the job they were hired for, but were paid the same as those who are liars and pretended to be sick... Sad really that the children have to suffer because of all this. Shouldn't the fake sick people be docked pay according to your document, given it's an unexcused absense? Meaning those that did not lie, should be paid for attempting to do the job they were hired for?

he's been front and center about collective bargaining
why, it's the talk of the town
The Governor cannot even hold the Legislature in session because they do not have the minimum number present to take action. He is hardly holding all the cards.
Actually, they did not. When there are not enough teachers, there are no students to teach. So they really did not DO their job- as you put it. You will have to pose your question to the school boards who handle such things. My experience is that once the stoppage is over, everyone gets back on the same page and none of things are ever really considered. Everybody shakes hands, kisses and makes up, and moves on with business as usual. And that is after very bitter and angry events in which both sides engage in caustic vitriol promising to bring doom upon their opponents.
ahh so the only people who suffer are the tax payers who pay these peoples salaries. Noted.

Who on medien average make less than these teachers do, and have less benefits.
NO. Since the contracts of the employees are annual salaries, and other workers are furloughed during a work stoppage, there are very few who get anything extra out of it. Its just a matter of shuffling the days on the calendar which generally costs nothing.
Yes, yes, I only grew up in Lansing Mi. Had nearly all my friends in the UAW, watched that union turn Flint into a ****hole rather than make concessions that could have kept jobs there. Moved out of MI because of the mentality of proud union members that believed that the money was endless, and they were owed something. But I know nothing of it....pfft....JA.

The comparison is only fair is you compare educational and skill levels of teachers with others in the private sector where the same educational and skill levels are demanded.
i'm glad we agree, when it comes to unions, you know nothing.
