Adding to things I've never seen before, possibly the worst call in the history of tennis.
3-3 in the 3rd, Edmund serving, break point.
Djokovic puts in a drop shot; Edmund moves forward to get it, loses control of his racquet, the ball bounces twice, the racquet slides out of Edmund's hand and into the net, and the ball, though it goes over the net, lands wide in the alley.
Call: Edmund gets the point. No break.
I just watched Federer lose 11-13 in the final set.
Jesus, I definitely didn't see that coming. First off...an 11-13 set. WTF. And then Federer going down to Anderson, didn't expect that. It was a hard game though, and certainly Federer didn't have the stamina to keep going.
Once it got to 10-10 I thought it might go that way. Fed doesn't have a great record in extended 5th sets.
What this does is open up the finals for Isner, if he can get past Raonic today. I would be a fan of that.
Yeah, we'll see. I'm pulling for Isner, though I do really like Federer and Nadal.
A rematch of 2008 would have been fun.
I think Nadal is going to win against Del Potro today, but that's still in the air.
It's close currently, but Nadal is really good. Trying to watch it, but I'm winded after watching that Federer/Anderson marathon, lol.
My buddy reminded me of a match, that I did not see, which was Isner/Mahut back in 2010 that went 70-68 in the final set.
Yeah, the Isner/Mahut match started on Tuesday, went all day Wednesday, and then ended on Thursday. Isner was wrecked after that.
The next year, they drew each other in the first round again. They requested the same ump.
I can't imagine how they played such a match over the course of 3 days. That's ridiculous. Just looking up details about that, Isner lost the next match fairly quickly...but man after 3 days of continued tennis up against someone who is fresh, don't know how he could have kept going. Also apparently the scoreboards at the time couldn't handle the score, I thought that was funny.
There should be some kind of limit in the final set. Maybe 10-10, then a tiebreak? It does no one any good to carry on for nearly 140 games.
Yeah, it's hardcore, but also not super likely. But perchance they should put an upper limit on things. I looks like that only the US Open has tiebreak on the final set.
Nadal/Del Potro's second set went long even in the tie break, they're tied up one set each.
Yeah, I don't know if I can watch another five-set grinder here.
Well if Nadal is to win, then we have to now because Del Potro went up 2-1 against him.

Isner brings it home. Nadal up a break late in the 5th.
I think Isner's match started after Nadal's and finished before his.
Both true.
Nadal won in another long match...it just really seemed like there was a lot of tennis today, lol.

I checked the score around lunchtime and Fed was up 2 sets to zip. I figured he had it in the bag. Then, Boom! He loses 3-straight.
Did he run out of gas?
