Will the spending review move the dial for Labour ?

Obviously it will be a little while before the real details come out.
But at first glance is there enough there to change the perception of a failing administartion ?
My initial thoughts are that it is a little too late and the benefits arenot tangible.
It feels like they are being driven rather than driving a vision.
Of course as soon as any tory opens their mouth it reminds us that things could be a lot worse.
Same with the faragists and their fantasy figures.
But tory lite policies will not reverse 14 years of tory mismanagement.

Until they start making better dsecisions they are doomed to fail.

Only the most optimistic socialists give Labour much chance of recovery. The party now relies on the public sector, wellfare recipients and Muslims for its core vote and there may not be enough of them. The party seems to have lost any trace of confidence in its leader,Sir Kier Starmer but are probably stuck with him until the next election.

There is a larger cohort of people who just want decent public services.

They havent reversed the slide. But they inherited a tory mess. They have failed to be a socialist government.
But its still a step up from the previous shower.

That comes down to Media portrayal, my feeling is that the media are hell bent on pushing the idea of Reform becoming the next Govt.
So even if the country takes a dramatic economic upturn and we start becoming a serious player on the industrial and manufacturing world, there is a sense that for some it's "give someone else a try" or "it's all about immigrants"
Reform's negative marketing is very effective, we saw that with Brexit.

Yeah but ordinary hardworking Brits still fell for the Brexit idea and voted to make the country poorer.

Thee problem is the same one with every part of right wing lunacy. They afford it too much respect. Reform, climate change the vax. Its never laughed out like it should be.

There are ways and means that those in power make money - like the odious "Crispin Odey" who shorted sterling to make millions out of the Brexit crash and the investment bankers cheering Kwasi Kwarteng on with that moronic Truss/Kwarteng budget that crashed the economy - they made money while everyone else paid the price. Odey is now a major financial backer of Reform.

fund managers attended a dinner after which they ‘shorted’ the pound and government bonds.
