President Donald Trump will host a military parade in June to honor military veterans and active-duty service members and commemorate the U.S. Army’s 250th birthday, Fox News Digital has learned.

The parade will have reenactors, equipment and more from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War/Desert Storm and the Global War on Terror (Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria). It's also slated to feature active-duty service members and students at U.S. military academies.

Well buckle up, mis amigos, this comes after Trump's January executive order creating "Task Force 250," which is focused on coordinating the plans and activities surrounding the celebration of the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Under the President’s leadership, the Salute to America 250 Task Force (“Task Force 250”) has commenced the planning of a full year of festivities to officially launch on Memorial Day, 2025 and continue through July 4th, 2026.

The White House is engaging and encouraging the entire federal government, state and local governments, the private sector, non-profit and educational institutions, and every citizen across this country to join in this historic celebration.

Task Force 250 invites citizens to have a renewed love of American history, experience the beauty of our country, and ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation that will raise our nation to new heights over the next 250 years.

As part of these efforts, Task Force 250 is proud to present an original video series, “The Story of America.” Read more below and check back soon for more details about additional White House initiatives

So, will Task Force 250 events renew a love of American history, showcase the beauty of our country, and ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation that will raise our nation to new heights over the next 250 years?

Is America the only country in the world that would arrange an enormous celebration of the day their army was formed?
Is there more than a handful of Americans who even knew what day that happened?
Who bloody cares?
North Korea, anyone?

For some, it will.

Others...well, they'll continue to do this...

So, mi amigo, how might you answer the question, "will Task Force 250 events renew a love of American history, showcase the beauty of our country, and ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation that will raise our nation to new heights over the next 250 years?"

What is the purpose of this?
Who benefits from it?

And what exactly does the claimed purpose/invite mean?
It's quite literally just a collection of vague statements, which the reader can assign their own understanding to...

I could read this as saying "We want you to love OUR version of American history, witness what WE think is beauty, and be inspired to work harder."

No.

The purpose is given in the OP. Who benefits and why is debatable. Got an opinion?
I have a suspicion.
I suspect that the wording of this is intentionally vague, so as to prevent me from having enough information to form an opinion based upon it.

De nada.
If celebrating the forming of the US Army could 'showcase the beauty of our country, and ignite a spirit of adventure and innovation that will raise our nation to new heights over the next 250 years?' I'd say you were already North Korea.
But then again, I'm Canadian. Expressions of patriotism embarrass me and extreme expressions alarm me.

Fair objection. Considering there is only one event, the Army's founding celebration, has any details attached to it.

The Task Force 250 website does provide some partisan flavor by partnering with Hillsdale College to produce a video series (two currently online) depicting " story of American Independence." Hillsdale College offerings seem to have a reputation for a moderate to strong bias toward conservative causes.

Re: Expressions of patriotism embarrass me and extreme expressions alarm me.

That is more relevant, I believe, than many people might think. Why celebrate at the 250 year mark? Just me, I suppose, but every hundred years might be more appropriate.

Rather than North Korea, or France on a fête nationale, the proposed events remind me of Roman triumphs and circuses. They're likely to be selectively partisan and serve to distract attention.

sure

Righties, I have noticed, are absolutely in love with this idea of a military parade on........................... Donald Trump's birthday.

Of course some will state this has MORE to do with the 250 years of the founding of the US military, but come on! Does anyone here honestly, and I do mean honestly, believe this has MORE to do with 250 years of US military than it does celebrating Trump's birthday??

We aren't all that naive even if some are.

Let's talk about this in realistic terms: What will this parade cost the taxpayers and HOW is this helping to control government expenditure?
Never mind the cost of repairing damaged roads.
Not to mention this kind of demonstration is typically seen in countries like NK or Russia.

Simply this is a vanity project. BUT because it is Trump proposing it, those who idolize Trump will love the idea and worse - ridicule anyone who doesn't love the idea.

Come on!! I am seriously shaking my head here. The White House is putting out "reasons" for having this parade and you buy it hook, line and sinker??
AND on top of that you quote Fox News? You don't for one minute consider which way Fox is going to lean on this?

Look, I know we ALL have our partisan views. Some of us detest everything Trump, some idolize Trump to the point of repeating his propaganda without even considering what they are repeating.

This whole idea is just stupid and a waste of taxpayer's money. This IS a vanity project, full stop, end of story. BUT because Fox quoted directly from the White House (yes, I read the story in the link you provided) then anything the White House says, like..................
"The President is planning an historic celebration of the Army’s 250th birthday that will honor generations of selfless Americans who have risked everything for our freedom,"
............ you automatically believed the White House line and regurgitated it here. I am simply stunned that there are people out there that are THIS naive. But it is what it is I suppose.

Maybe they will reenact how the Continental Army took over the airports in the Revolutionary War!

"Trump praised the Americans’ military efforts in the war against Great Britain. “Our army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory,” he said."

President Trump Said Revolutionary War Troops ‘Took Over the Airports’ in His Fourth of July Speech

And of course, who can forget Paul Revere's famous ride:

"“One if by land/Two if by sea/ Three if arriving at Terminal C.”"

It was sarcasm. Took me a moment to get it myself. ;)
