will India change its name to Bharat?

and will you go along with that?
Sure. If someone wants to change their name, I will respect that. If a man now wants to now be called a woman, or vice versa, I will respect that. So why not this?

If they do they do. They decide their international name. Sri Lanka used to be Ceylon. DR Congo used to be Zaire. Czechia used to be the Czech Republic (I still use this some time when I forget they have changed name), and before WW1 they were Bohemia. Myanmar used to be Burma, North Macedonia used to be FYROM and so on.

A country may decide its international name?

What about Deutschland then?

If Germany wanted the world to refer to it as Deutschland more power to. Expect that it would take many years for the majority of people to change how they refer to Germany that way
