Newsmax is starting to beat the drum. They made Babbitt a hero despite her being a literal domestic terrorist attacking our republic (thank God she wasn't smart enough to hear a helmet). Now it looks like in every effort to defend the convicted felon and child repist, they're gonna make a pimp into a hero.

30% of this country is pure bad actor.
 
Unsure it is quite apples to apples between Babbitt as the proverbial MAGA martyr to Maxwell somehow being innocent. But the mentality is certainly there, in both cases and in a very awkward way the biggest beneficiary here is still Trump. Of course, being all innocent himself... :rolleyes:
 
At some point Republicans have to start realizing that the Trump administration is just handing ammunition to Democrats and painting a giant bullseye on the GOP. Which appears to stand for "Guardians Of Pedophiles" now. The Democratic campaign rhetoric writes itself at this point. All the democrats need to do is find someone with some charisma, and they will have a cornucopia of strategies to campaign on in the next two election cycles. What will Republicans have?

Trump is doing a good job of distracting the MAGA base from this issue with other outrageous acts, so my guess is YES, seeing how the MAGA base sees the justice system as fake, etc, etc,...

The Trumplicans are certainly doing everything in their power to appear as slimy as possible.

The question is whether the Democrats can get their shit together well enough to capitalize on it.

They are the people who have a weak ego, emotional vulnerability, those susceptible to manipulation because of past trauma, having low self-worth coupled with a need for validation, and their lives often don't have meaning, so they search and get attracted to Trumpish people.................................they are sad/pathetic individuals compared to others, but it is hard to see until times like these emerge...................

Imagine how much of your soul you have to cede to put pedophile rapists over the other political party. They will accept, put up with, and try to forget that they support those protecting pedophile rapists!
 
The MAGANS have proved to be EXTREME hippocrites in such areas of police support, "tough on crime" , fiscal responsibility., fixing debt, the economy, keeping peace, , moral authority, ........and the list goes on..............................boy, did the voters ever SCREW UP by putting Trump in office!! Damian Williams, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that GHISLANE MAXWELL was sentenced today in Manhattan federal court by United States Circuit Judge Alison J. Nathan to 240 months in prison for her role in a scheme to sexual exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Jeffrey Epstein over the course of a decade. MAXWELL was previously found guilty on December 29, 2021, following a one-month jury trial, of conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors to participate in illegal sex acts, transporting a minor to participate in illegal sex acts, sex trafficking conspiracy, and sex trafficking of a minor.

U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Today’s sentence holds Ghislaine Maxwell accountable for perpetrating heinous crimes against children. This sentence sends a strong message that no one is above the law and it is never too late for justice. We again express our gratitude to Epstein and Maxwell’s victims for their courage in coming forward, in testifying at trial, and in sharing their stories as part of today’s sentencing.”

Maxwell’s lawyers had argued that her convictions violated an agreement Epstein reached with federal prosecutors 15 years ago in which he agreed to plead guilty to sex crimes and his co-conspirators were granted immunity. The lawyers also said some of the charges were brought after the statute of limitations had expired, and alleged judicial errors during her trial and sentencing.

Think about it: one of the reasons we are in this predicament is because Dems are too earnest. Vote was depressed due to Hillary in 2016, Harris in 2024 (different reasons). Most Dems care about our principles. (Al Franken is another example)

The tough on crime bit is a myth. Most sovereign citizens are maga. MAGA is the group talking loudest about doing away with our constitution.
