Why the War in Ukraine Matters to America

As someone who has visited the defensive trenches in eastern Ukraine and keeps abreast of things political and military regarding Russia, I can say this with conviction; the Kremlin is preparing for a major war on the European continent.

Or you could say the Kremlin is preparing to defend itself against a major war on the Europran continent. A tit for tat response to USA/EU/NATO military adventurism on all EU/Russian borders. Missile batteries, tanks, troops, new bases established all near Russian borders. Pulling out on the INF treatey can only aggravate this situation.

The death of George H.W. Bush is a timely reminder of what it means to not the greatest (WII) generation in the oval office. There is only a minimal intolerance of Russian imperialism in Washington, and Trump is an uncertain friend of Ukraine. Historically Republicans have been a counter-balance to the Democratic merchants of appeasement - if Carter or Senate Democrats were weak sisters, the Republicans were more than happy to aid the Afgan rebels, or launch a war to liberate Kuwait.

But now that a quasi-isolationist nationalist is in charge of the oval office, who is left to stand for the Ukraine? The democrats look to Obama's party, not Hillary's (who, to give her credit, has more spine for confrontation than her party or Trump). I agree, the sanctions have failed and Putin has decided that Trump and Europe don't have any more cards to play. And unless Trump sends some serious signals that he is willing to repeat Reagan's massive supply to anti-Soviet forces, Putin will have no reason to avoid war.

Ukraine is a European problem and ought to be solved by Europeans. Its in America's best interests to keep out of it.

I am confident the USA or any European country would not be the aggressor in any war causing conflict on Russian soil.

Economically? yes... physically.... They wouldn't touch Russia without provocation...

I cannot say the same for Russia.... They already attacked a European country directly.

European history displays the European fondness for war as a sport. The Tartars of Ukraine, avid players.

When the Russians destroy them, and the rest of Europe cries for those who enjoyed preying upon all those who were not Tartars, we can sit back and learn. Nothing for us to worry about. Macron has stated he fears not an American invasion. Today he has bigger worries.

confirmed:
~.........................Russia has been preparing for a major war for years. This is a war against the US, a war which might involve a catastrophic nuclear exchange. It's a war that Russia thinks it can survive better than the US...............~

without Ukraine NATO ´d fight Muscovites in Estonia over Narva already . and both parties understand it , and it will be more and more military aid to Ukraine
