Why Should Conservatives Like Libertarian Ideas?

I agree--libertarian positions are essentially conservative positions.

But in that regard the GOP would be threatened by the rise of the LP. Ron Paul demonstrated that years ago. The GOP is more interested in monopoly than in good governance.
 
Man, associating the libertarians with the republicans is like letting the tea party take over, except worse... Libertarianism is such a bore.
 
They always ask: name one thing that the federal government has ever done successfully and I answer banking! Therefore, your entire political philosophy rests on a misunderstanding of capitalism.
