This is insane.

Big brother wants to inspect fire trucks from Oregon to make sure they are up to snuff.

What an arrogant load of whale dung.

This was an unforgivable delay.

FACT CHECK: Oregon fire engines allowed to fight wildfires in California

"These inspections ensure all engines on an emergency scene are equipped, mechanically sound, and able to respond. This ensures our number one priority of a safe deployment for our firefighters,” the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office said."

Uh huh.

Did you read the article?

A spokesperson with CAL Fire says that is patently false. "No vehicles from Oregon have been turned around or refused service at Davis Mobile Equipment and all out-of-state vehicles have been services and are heading to or have arrived in Southern California. No emissions testing was performed. All repairs were completed the same day with the exception of a couple because of parts but turn around was early next day," CAL Fire Spokesperson via email.

To keep firefighters safe in a situation where they could die should one thing go wrong?

I don't know.

What's your theory?
My thought is why is CA smarter than Oregon when it comes to keeping their fire trucks safe?

Your screename should be “I will always waste your time”

Why would your mind go to an insult rather than an appropriate sense of responsibility for those who have come from out of state to risk their lives in order to aid one's state?

You don t see the glaring disrespect CA is showing Oregon firefighters?

What kind of bureaucratic asshole thinks Oregon needs Californias to evaluate their fire equipment?

Seems perfectly sane.

Edit: I would assume most professionals check their equipment after traveling hundreds of miles, before taking it into an active zone where it will be used.

Edit 2: Especially if that equipment is a vehicle that was used to travel those hundreds of miles.

@VySky is complaining about taking an average of 45 MINUTES to make sure that the equipment you’re sending into a disaster zone is safe and reliable for the crews using it.

Hey @VySky - would it be better to send a truck in and then…when winds shift and fire starts blowing in a different direction and the crew has to evacuate…for them to go to get in the truck and the truck not start?

Or a tire be flat and them break down as they’re trying to get to safety?

Is that what you’d prefer?

Who said that?

Those trucks have driven hundreds of miles and are about to enter a DISASTER ZONE and active emergency zone.

You triple check your equipment before you walk into a place like that.

From the article from the OREGON FIRE MARSHALL.

These inspections ensure all engines on an emergency scene are equipped, mechanically sound, and able to respond. This ensures our number one priority of a safe deployment for our firefighters,” the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office said

The fire fighters aren’t complaining - but apparently @VySky thinks this is something to be faux raged about because of blind partisan bullshit.

The Oregon Fire Marshall apparently.

Considering they speak about the safety of THEIR FIREFIGHTERS in the article you linked.

You know better than them?

What does zerohedge have to say about it? I mean, it must have something that it wants out there.

Oh the drama. Then they drive another 400 miles to LA. How does Oregon firefighters get along without big brother CA?

So they dont break down in the steep, difficult, often isolated terrain? So they are cleared for not producing sparks? Just a couple of thoughts off the top of my head.

Weird how you’re all up in arms and the Oregon Fire Marshall isn’t.

😂🙄

Guess the Fire Marshall cares more about the safety and lives of the firefighters than partisan bullshit.

You just owned yourself. Reading is fundamental. This is hilarious.

No one cares about your feigned anger.
Let the professionals do their jobs.

What kind of a blithering idiot takes equipment into an inferno without checking it?

Your authoritarian twitch will eat you alive.

Just to be clear, you want firefighter going to fight fires in vehicles that needed repair?

Seems perfectly sane.

I would figure they would inspect it pretty regularly because Oregon has fires too.
Edit 2: Especially if that equipment is a vehicle that was used to travel those hundreds of miles.
We can't take it for granted that they inspect their own vehicles? Does everyone that ever enters California in a vehicle have to do California vehicle inspection?

Because they just drove a few hundred miles and want to be sure it's ready to go?

What if something happened on the 400 miles from inspection to LA?
