Why do Republicans always prefer the most corrupt and self-dealing politicians? Even among Democrats they tolerate.

It really is a curiosity. If it's not Trump or JD Vance or Rick Scott on the right, it's Henry Cuellar, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema on the "left". They always make a beeline for the most blatantly and cartoonishly corrupt politicians.

Can anyone explain why? Assuming its not because they hate government and want to destroy it from within by overloading it with corruption.
