The image in the signature was originally linked to offsite instead of being hosted here, then when whatever site stopped hosting the image for whatever reason, it reduced all instances of the image to the question mark.

Guess it depends on the browser , I don't get the big box when viewing that post.

Right clicking it makes it seem as though it's still a image though.
