What concerns me more are those on the fence, though I'm not sure how anyone would think Trump (if he's the candidate) would be a better option; though many probably don't remember how badly he publicly humiliated his first wife by parading everywhere with his mistress (Marla Maples).

Almost certainly there is a private financial agreement with the child's mother or present legal guardian. I can't imagine breaking the child's privacy would do the child any good. Nothing is more important than the child's good. Do I believe Hunter has done some very bad things. Of course he has. Dragging a child into the public to embarrass him, can not possibly help the child.

True we don't know for certain. However, according to the article in the OP, he has not publicly acknowledged the girl as his granddaughter even though Hunter is paying a lot of child support for her.

Hunter is an adult. What do you want Joe to do? Subject her more to public scrutiny and trauma? As loving and compassionate as he is, he may have done so privately. We don't know.Children under 18 of famous people should be out of bounds. It's not their fault who their parents are, and they deserve to have as normal a childhood as possible. Being protective. Keeping her life private and out of the spotlight is the kindest way to do that. Maybe one day as she grows older and the hateful politics that we live under lessens there may well be a relationship out of the public eye. Leave the innocent child alone.

It is a question of character.

Think about what it would be like to be the grandchild of a president and that president not to even acknowledge your existence. She is 4, so she doesn't know it yet, but she will. When your parents are lacking, and her's clearly are, all you have is your grandparents. They are the only potential source of love and stability in your childhood. He talks about how much he loves his family and his grandchildren but he doesn't even recognize her. Think about how that is going to feel for that girl in the future. I am sorry, but politics aside, I find it utterly unconscionable.

There are undoubtedly factors that the Bidens have not divulged here at DP. We don’t know the whole story so all we have is conjecture.
