See, I don't agree here. I'm not saying that Americans are stupid, but a lot of us vote straight tickets without giving it any thought. According to this article 35% of republicans and 43% of democrats vote straight ticket.I think it's easy to worship the law of averages and think all Americans can be quantified into a bunch of easily digested statistics. The truth is we're all individuals and each of us are in our own personal situation. This drives how we vote. We all vote for our own best benefit. Democrats clearly misread how much economically people are hurting.
It actually makes sense to vote straight ticket if you are voting based on your beliefs and what you want to see happen. The party hopefully has an agenda with policies and plans to achieve those goals and that's why you voted for them to begin with. You voted you beliefs in policies and it' stands to reason that party candidates share those.See, I don't agree here. Where 66% of people voted straight ticket in the 2022 primaries.
That's a good POV. My ballots tend to be split. I can't bring myself to vote for people who I don't think are good people. It actually makes sense to vote straight ticket if you are voting based on your beliefs and what you want to see happen. Okay, you sound like a Trump voter, what did he say that you think the country needs. Secure borders maybe, well why didn't Trump actually secure the borders when he has four years to do so. He passed no real laws to do the job and when the GOP had a chance to pass a bill to help with the problem, Trum killed it. How about inflation. His failure to handle both the covid problem and the Transportation/distribution system problems led to shortage in supply that eventually as in any capitalistic system led to inflation. I am sorry, this is about the dumbing down of the American public who do get most of their misinformation from media where they only go to that media which agrees with their political opinions.Americans are not stupid. We are a divided country and we have different opinions on what the country needs.
Americans are not stupid, they are just ignorant, which is different from stupid and our education system is at fault. I listen to and read about how bad the economy is and wonder, do these stupid people even understand economics, really? I mean the GOP tells people how bad the economy is and they just take it for a fact. With everyone else in the world lookiing at our economy and seeing it as the best in the world they have to wonder what the hell the GOP is saying. Then we have inflation. OUt country is tied to the world more than most people understand as we are one of if not the biggest importer of goods in the world. The whole world had high inflation and in this country much of it had to do with Trump's failure to handle the covid problem and the transportation/distribution problems that led to supply problem pushing prices up. Does anyone talk about it, no because we only listen to those people who believe as we do. If more people actually understood economics, they would understand more about our economy. again, uneducated not stupid.See, I don't agree here. Government Education Systems are organized and run for the benefit of the administrators and employees, not the students.I just wanna know what you guys think mostly its social media.
What it should be is get educated, not by blog, but take a course in government or economics so you can figure out for yourself the problems. The problem is that even if they take a course they will not agree with anything that does not match their political opinions. The thread title would be a rousing campaign slogan.
Why not use it next time around? "Don't be so stupid! Vote for me!"
Bound to be a winner.

You don't really get it right IMO. There's always a strain of that mentality which makes those voters easy to manipulate. It's not about 2008, though we saw it then with the Koch brothers' "tea party" manipulation. Ironically, the more wealth inequality, the easier it is for the wealthy to fool people who to blame. George Soros is the cause!I don’t think Americans are stupid.
I think we have collectively been in a self destructive and angry mood in this country since the 2008 financial crisis and have never fully snapped out of it. We want to tear things up, including our institutions, culture, and government.
I expect that mood is only going to accelerate in the coming years as the wealth gap continues to increase.
