He'll be gone soon enough and the GQP will be held accountable for a very long time.

The stench of Trump will be around for as long as we allow it.

Why?

Because what created Trump is still out there.

What created Trump?

Glad you asked.

What created Trump is the greed of a small minority of very wealthy individuals who want more. They are “more” junkies, because the want of more can be as addictive as drugs, food, cigarettes, sex…. An addiction is when the committing of acts that can frequently be OK under rational levels and circumstances (eating, having sex, wanting to achieve great things) reach levels where conducting them place the addict and others at unreasonable and unnecessary risk (and in the case of third parties affected, without their permission) yet knowing this the addicted do them anyway for the gratification of their addiction, which is never satisfied and always wants more. Always more, and at greater risk to themselves and others. They create unsustainable circumstances around them that have to crash. Taking themselves and frequently third parties who gave no knowing consent to be dragged under with them, along for the ride.

This group of addicts seek power to get more[/i, the thing they are addicted to, and use more to get power. A vicious little, tight, circle.

They need enough of “We the People”, as long as this is still a Constitutional Republic, to help them. So they prey upon those without who lack the ability to figure out why they have less. People seeking cause for their misery, what they perceive as injustices, and give them manufactured, fake, causality. Something for them to aim their angst at. Then tell them they are the answer to those problems.

In fact, if the wounded this small group of wealthy more addicts took advantage of truly wanted to aim their angst with some chance of it actually improving their lot they’d aim it at the very people feeding them the horse crap they are consuming. However a lack of the ability to DISCERN actuality from alternative reality makes it truly difficult for these people to see whose shaft is actually making their rear ends sore.

This isn’t made up. It’s happened before. Our history clearly records its last massive seizure, the last Gilded Age and the resultant Crash of ‘29 and the Great Depression that followed it.

Trump isn’t going away because Trump isn’t the issue. It’s what Trump represents that’s the cause and that’s still very active unless we stop it before it takes us off the cliff approaching U.S. (sic): again.

Out of the frying pan into the fire, with Vance.

I dunno. I think the spineless Republicans who know he is a conman but have been threatened to be Primaried by him will be happy to reverse course when he is no longer in power. There is really only 35% of the population that blindly supports him.

The hate and detestation of liberals is the driving cause, plus the long term admiration of Putin the Christofascist ruler means there is a permanent and strong base of support in the USA for what Trump is and all that Trump has been doing to include being solicitous of Putin.

I have spent years reading and hearing liberals wave their magic wand about the ever undefined time Trump will be gone and things will return to normal again. Only liberals can think in this magical way which is why liberals have totally been unable to as much as slow Trump down never mind stop him. The OP meanwhile is garble.

My concern is more his supporters enabling it. Look how easy they're rolling over and accepting everything he does and say.

Just imagine someone who's have more nefarious goals and isn't an idiot can do.

It's a very real effect, but we cannot know the future. Just because this effect has been identified and described does not mean it could not come to a crashing end.

There is very real cause for hope that it will.

It has been going on for a very long time, but it has been quite subtle. Now that Trump has accelerated and maximized everything about the effect it is out in the open. People are waking up to what is going on, and seeing the effects very clearly.

Donald is the one who is spoiling it for all the other addicts because in exemplifying it, he has also exposed it.

He can push and push, but at some point he will run out of energy the nation will snap back. That could happen in his death. Without the charismatic leader to organize and focus all the foolish beliefs in the BS propaganda which keeps the effect going, it will be possible for clearer minds to act and create new guard rails to prevent a repeat.

Donald is in the process of exposing the Republican bullshit machine. By enacting everything they have been talking about for decades, and showing that it is detrimental to society, the classic Republican argument of small government will no longer work.

He has promised to pay down the debt and improve the economy with all these changes, but those promises are being broken. Most Americans don't really care about the debt, but the economy hits home. Wrecking the economy is the one thing Americans will not forgive Donald or Republicans for.

The OP meanwhile is garble.

Will I did type it from a hospital room, sitting next to my ill wife, but it’s ideas I’ve been suggesting for years. They aren’t new. They aren’t fringe. They are held by many scholarly folk (not that I count myself as scholarly).

1) History is the record of human endeavors and behavior.

2) Addiction is acting out of compulsion to fulfill unhealthy level drives by acts that place the addict, and frequently third parties (most of the time non-consenting), at uncessary risk.

3) Greed, avarice, the drive for more at unhealthy levels, is no exception. It is subject to becoming addictive level behavior.

4) Our history clearly records periods of time where addiction to “more” by our industrial/business/oligarchical has created unsustainable economic markets that crashed due to their unsustainablity. Leading, in the case of The Great Depression, to a generation’s worth of economic misery.

As I stated, I’ve been saying such things here for some time. Few have had any trouble following along, whether they agreed or not.

But this isn’t small government. It’s a different version of huge government Government by the wealthy, for the wealthy.

I know that and you know that, but they keep trying to convince the cult they are reducing government. So essentially they are showing the cult that reducing the government does not work. People lose services, taxes are not lower, and the federal debt just keeps on climbing out of control.
