Apparently forty or so empty folders with the designation of classified were in the donald's office at his residence in florida.

The question is who put them there and why?

Why would trump take empty folders or why would the fbi 'plant' empty folders?

Were they empty when they first arrived at trump's residence?

Likely something the FBI and the IC are all over like a fly on a turd. I have a real funny feeling this story is going to get much more interesting.

I find all the Trumper's explanations for this being totally innocent hard to believe.

The issue does not matter, whatever trump does will be ok with his base, hell, they'll even make excuses for him.
 
Agree the FBI is all over this. Hopefully, there can be a matchup between classified documents found without folders and the empty folders. Even Trump isn't so stupidly arrogant to have done something with the documents and kept trophy folders....is he? You gotta wonder why he kept empty folders? It's just weird.....
 
I admit I have not been following this as I don't get all consumed with Trump and I actually wait, except for what I read on here.
When I read this post, this is what came to my mind immediately: Really, do you people think Trump went through these files, and loaded up them himself? If there were empty folders then maybe someone took what was inside of them out already? Maybe there was never anything in them?
How about get the persons involved with the actual packing and moving to answer some questions.

Umm... no. Others that have been found with classified files outside of where they are supposed to be were immediately thrown in jail until their trials.

The man is getting special treatment because he is an ex president. Otherwise he would already be in the slammer.

For sure maybe....and I suspect those involved in the packing have been or are on a list to be interviewed. However, who packed the boxes is not the important point. Packing the boxes is probably the least of the crimes being investigated.

These classified and top secret documents were in Trump's possession. He knew of their existence, some were even found in his office. In May he was served with a subpoena to turn them all over and did not comply. In fact, his lawyers swore an affidavit that they had done a diligent search and there were no more. If he truly believed that he was entitled to these documents then he should have challenged the subpoena in court not withhold and conceal subpoenaed documents.

Are you OK with Trump having Top Secret and Classified documents in unsecured boxes at his resort? Are you OK with him withholding them when legally subpoenaed?

He is responsible for their management and those who handle them. There is a process in place on how to review all presidential documents by NARA, which then returns those which are cleared as personal property. Had the standard process been followed, this investigation would not have happened.

If there was nothing in them, then it still needs to be determined where they are. This is why records management is important, and clearly we have a former president who seems to have botched this completely. The movers aren't the problem here, but the person(s) who managed these records and didn't bother with the document review process.

Really? Do you really believe that at this point it doesn't matter what Americans think about a past President illegally possessing and storing top secret documents in an unsecured location? I don't believe you don't have an opinion. I think you do but like so many Trumpers can't seem to openly admit that what he did was wrong, very, very wrong condemn him and move on.

I think Trump was given a very raw deal by the left during his presidency. If he were given a true fair assessment by the media and not had the constant barrage of fake news and false Breaking news headlines that went nowhere, perhaps, but because of this the left have CREATED the so cult Trump cult. WE dug in!!!!!!!!!!
 
It is impossible for me to believe any American with an ounce of brain matter could really believe it was OK for Trump to do what he did. This isn't a complicated political matter open to interpretation! If they truly believe that what he did was OK then they are definitely MAGA Republicans. If they know what he did was wrong and won't admit it and would be OK with him back in power then they are cowards willing to put their whole country in jeopardy for a criminal. Republican voters have the power to kick him to the curb and select another candidate for 2024. Their Republican leaders dont have the courage to do it but the voters can ....

it's my belief that the ex-president was making deals/selling US secrets while STILL in office.

it's just who he is.
