It’s illegal to break into the Capitol, assault law enforcement, vandalize public property and stop the lawful certification of a free and fair election. It’s why they were arrested, tried and convicted. Every single person who breached the initial crowd barrier should have been shot in the spot.

I mean - all voters who mail in are absent from the polling station, so this reads as an attempt to play at semantics. However, you were incorrect that we have not, in our history, done vote-by-mail at scale prior to 2020. If you want to shift to the point that most states had not done as much mail-in voting as they did in 2020 before (with a few notable exceptions), that would absolutely be correct.

However, it is not true that we had not done mail in voting at scale, nor is it true that there was no verification. We know how to vote by mail, and voter fraud is about as rare as voter suppression. Both parties have merely discovered that scaring their base is a great way to boost turnout.

That is indeed who it was primarily aimed at during the Civil War, when we first started doing it at scale. Do you think that the military membership of the citizens voting somehow makes it "not mail-in"?


Eight states and Washington, D.C., allow all elections to be conducted entirely by mail: California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont and Washington state.

In Colorado every voter receives a mail-in ballot, sent to the address on their voter registration. You are allowed to vote in person if you make a mistake, damage, or lose your ballot (or have recently moved and don't receive one). Not being banned from turning in a ballot personally is not the same as not being a mail-in system, which they have been since 2013.

Prior to the 2020 election, it was the Left fearmongering this, claiming that Trump was going to have the post office steal the mailboxes After Trump lost - and he lost - Trump and his minions tried to throw a lot of stuff at the wall to see what stuck. That got some of them sued for defamation, and resulted in some sadly hilarious TV meltdowns.... but it was just an exercise in Trump refusing to acknowledge inconvenient reality, and dragging a bunch of right wingers (and some fools, and some cowards) with him.

I'm not sure what you mean by "they". Wisconsin's Supreme Court did not rule that mail-in-ballots could be ignored, and the State GOP Audit of the election revealed no widespread fraud. They did find precisely four people who may have voted twice in the election and 11 people whose absentee ballots may have been counted, even though they died before Election Day.

No - you should have a varied media diet. Places like this are actually quite useful, because it's easy to get trapped in a bubble, and running into people who are bringing contrary information (that partisan media won't share) helps you avoid falling prey to capture.

But yeah. You should generally not trust sources still trying to tell you the 2020 election was stolen, just as you shouldn't trust sources insisting that the moon landings were faked, that the world is flat, or that we are secretly ruled by shape-shifting Lizard People.

"Stolen" is debatable. 2020 was the most corrupt election in America history. The Covid lockdowns were leveraged by your side to alter and pervert voting procedures, on a massive scale.

In 2023, 11 states passed tough new election integrity laws. In 2024 - you lost.

Coincidence? Not at all. You won't be able to repeat 2020 with these laws in place.

I doubt that very much, every system is likely to have *some* fraud. The question is about the election in 2020, and there has never been any evidence of widespread fraud. In other words, not enough to change the outcome of the election.

We do elections pretty well in this country.

This is incorrect both specifically and generally.

Generally, Elon Musk claimed that workers born before 1900 were getting checks.

Specifically, what occurred is that the 20-somethings' working DOGE didn't understand the older code that OASI's support structure was written in. That system applies a date of 1875 when it doesn't have a number - so, for passed-on recipients who didn't have birthdates in the system, it records them as 1875 - 150 years ago. Not a single person who had 1875 assigned was receiving benefits - the system is designed to automatically cut people off at 115, regardless of whether death has been reported. The system simply continues to hold the records of those who have passed - which is why 98% of those who are over 100 in the system no longer receive benefits. They have passed.
