Who started the so-called "personal cell phone"(also known as the lifeline program) policy?
Who started the so-called "personal cell phone"(also known as the lifeline program) policy?
I know during the Reagan administration there were no cell phones. They had these big mobile radio phones that millionaires could only afford.
The original life line phones were land line phones and were required to be rotary dial phones so they couldn't be used to contact your local drug dealer's pager. Oh yeah, no toll calls were allowed.
I asked you a question about what you would have supported and didn't get an answer. Bush took office on January 21, 2001 and 9/11 happened how many months later. Need help with math? I suggest that you stop buying the liberal talking points and answer direct questions as well as read the 9/11 report. Like all liberals you prefer believing what you are told vs. doing any research.
Yet the Obamaphone germ was planted during the gippers REIGN.Shocking.
We've had this argument 500 times. You'll never get a Republican to admit that.

LOL....once again...typical conservative hypocrisy. Point the finger of blame all the while rationalizing your hero's failures and failure to take responsibility for anything. You are sooooo predictable that it is kind of funny.

The U.S. government spent about $2.2 billion last year to provide phones to low-income Americans, but a Wall Street Journal review of the program shows that a large number of those who received the phones haven't proved they are eligible to receive them.
You can't possibly believe that Romney would be less effective in the Presidency than Obama has proven to be? Clearly, Romney's track record of working with Democrats in Massachussetts belies that. And you can't possibly believe that Romney would be less effective in improving the economic environment in the US - that's just not credible. Even if I assume you're correct when you equate Romney and Obama as being two sides of the same coin, just the two areas mentioned above would be strong determinates in a Romney Presidency over a reelection of Obama.
bret baier just interviewed james rosen, special report...
we're all waiting for obama's announcement 6 pm eastern, he's 19 minutes late right now
did you know the white house surrendered the talking points email chain today, 94 pages of correspondence...
rosen just read to us (i'm paraphrasing):
at 7:16 and 7:23 pm on the friday nite before susan-rice-sunday, victoria nuland emailed the need to "soften" language about "perpetrators"
such language "could come back to us at the podium"
that's very bad---changing the truth for political reasons
after a conversation with [name redacted], i have serious concerns
at 11:17 the next morning, ben rhodes and tommy vietor were more active
the language, "islamic extremists with ties to al qaeda" was still part of the talking points at that time
that afternoon, an email from cia: "state dept had major reservations and we revised with their concerns in mind"
the white house has adamantly insisted the opposite
***
obama just fired miller
Not really shocking. At the time there were millions of retired elderly who were living on fixed incomes who were being taxed (property taxes) and couldn't make ends meet. They couldn't afford even paying for a phone in their homes so they could have access to make an emergency phone call for paramedics, fire or police.
The original intentions were morally right. It was during the Clinton administration when the abuse began and was expanded so those druggies in the inner cities could have a free phone so they would have more money to spend on crack and that 40 ouncer.
Before Obama is forced to resign or is impeached and convicted, I wonder if we'll see free Obama broadband internet service. And I'm sure we'll soon see Obama lap tops and Obama smart phones.
It was actually a working system that benefited the elderly and other very poor people, many of them even disabled. Sensible.
It went from that to THIS under your God King Oblamo

Some of these Obamaphones were even being used by drug dealers because they couldn't be traced. We've went over this before last month. The Reagan whining is a pathetic and laughable false premise. It's not Reagan's fault Obama expanded the program so ridiculously without any proper oversight, but then again it's just par for the course. To emotional libs, every Obama failure is someone else's fault.
Is that breaking
The IRS has begun defending some of its senior leadership, releasing a statement Wednesday saying that its chief counsel, William Wilkins, was not among those who participated in a meeting of agency employees to discuss the targeting of conservative groups. The inspector general’s report suggested that a “chief counsel” had been at an Aug. 4, 2011, meeting on the issue, but the IRS said that the lawyers who attended were actually “several layers below Wilkins.”
Though a draft of the report had been floating around Washington for days, Obama waited until the official release on Tuesday night to offer an unqualified condemnation, calling the agency’s behavior “intolerable and inexcusable.” In remarks at a press conference on Monday, Obama had qualified his assessment with the conditional “if” news reports on the findings were true. White House press secretary Jay Carney offered the same skepticism in his comments earlier this week.
yes, it broke, the only source (that's why it took me 15:00 to post, i tried to find a usable link) is...

it really does look like he's lost the beltway, lost the press

Then you’re admitting that my scenario was right when I stated that the germ for the Obamaphone was planted by the gipper in 1984? Thanks.
Yep...the gipper got something right when he planted the seed for the free ObamaPhone.:2wave:
LOL....you are missing the point. Why are you dodging and so afraid to talk
about your hypocrisy? Is it because your "feigned outrage" is being exposed?
As for your questions: I am as outraged at the Obama administration surveilling citizens and the AP just as I was with the Bush administration.
I am as outraged that Obama has not closed Gitmo and is continuing in the same vein as Bush in that arena.
I am not as outraged at Obama as I am at Bush for his handling of Iraq/Afghanistan. Obama didn't manipulate the public fear and start a war with a country that didn't attack us. Obama finished the job that your hero couldn't.
The better question is: Why do you continue to give GWB a pass while you feign outrage at Obama?
Nope, it wasn't Reagan's idea. Reagan was known for compromising with the opposition, that's sign of good leadership. Unless it had any thing to do with national defense and winning the Cold War then there was no compromising. America first.
BBbuttt…:shock:you said in post#207the following” The original intentions were morally right. “That begs the question. Whose “original intentions were morally right “?:2wave:
I think we have crossed the line of thread drifting.
