At this point I seriously don't get why he bothers with the charade. Maybe the Verkhovna Rada should just make him dictator for life. It makes perfect sense. Martial Law means job security for both Parliament and the Duce. Why hold elections when Martial Law is a better guarantor of job security and continuity?

The expiry of present Martial Law is August 7th 2025. The 90 day extension goes till November 5th 2025. Then the baboons of the Verkhovna Rada go through the motions again! Why not rest the issue for once and for all by making him dictator for life? If the nobody Julius Caesar did it why not the great Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelensky??? More importantly, how is Ukraine supposed to even run elections? A huge part of Ukraine is currently occupied making that more or less impossible (particularly since Russia is a totalitarian dictatorship with some of the most severe levels of censorship in the history of humanity). If Juin is so, so worried about the democratic process in Ukraine, shouldn't he be in favor of giving Ukraine the H-bomb so they can de-occupy their lands and run an election?

The gorilla will remain in the room for the remainder of the decade. Trump, whether he likes it or not, will not be able to stop the war. Ukraine/Eu and Russia appear to be very much full of fight. What that means is Zelensky's dictatorship is secure at least till 2028.
