How Trump tariffs are lowering food prices in Brazil, Mexico

Another side effect of US tariffs. While everything is getting more expensive in the US, in Brazil and Mexico prices are trending downward. This is because with the US buying less, there is now an oversupply of food in their domestic markets which pushes prices down. Good for the consumers, but bad for the farmers.

Maybe Amerícans close to the border in the future travels to Mexico for groceries.

Why not? They already go to Mexico for healthcare:

I hope you are joking.

Food Prices skyrocketed under Biden, and rose even faster -AFTER - the "Covid effect" had died down.
2022-2023 were the highest rise in food prices in HISTORY. Ever.
While 2023- Jan 2025 was not as bad, but not a whole lot better.
2025 so far the inflation of food has slowed down, just barely above food inflation prior to Covid overreaction.
Tarrifs have a tiny effect on food inflation.
What has a MUCH larger effect is grocers not lowering prices after the - H U G E - price increases from 2021-2025. They don't want to lower them.
Kroger is set to have it's best profitable year in a long time.

They have to go to Canada for their prescriptions first.

So that's how maga clings to falsehoods.

Very amusing.

Hello. People know it when their money doesn't go as far as it used to.

There is a reason the USA lost jobs. It is sitting in the oval office.
