All I'll give you on that is that there are comparatively rare anomalies that aren't fully corrupted. The atmosphere in politics is so thick that they don't even think they are corrupt, just business as usual.

I can name many presidents who were not corrupted.

Jimmy Carter was never corrupted. Thats an example that I think would be universally agreed on.

I don't believe that Eisenhower was corrupted.

There are many presidents who were not corrupted.

So it's not the power that corrupts, but the power does attract corrupt people who are willing to do things to get the power that uncorruptable people might not.

Let's assume Carter wasn't corrupt.

He damn sure was complicate.

Unless you are trying to tell me that during Carter's president

1) Large donations were banned
2) Healthcare was affordable
3) Military spending was reasonable
4) Education was properly funded

I could go on, but you get my picture.

A president can do damn near anything with

1) The people behind him / in favor of said action
2) Executive Orders

Example.

Biden holds a state of the Union address.

He pulls the curtains back on how big business buys our politicians via massive donations in which the politicians give them favorable policies.

He outlines how this hurts the American people and how we need to remove money from politics.

He enacts an executive order banning large donations from elections / politics in general.

Congress is pretty much handcuffed as if they try to fight this, it would be outing them to the world for the pigs they are and hell would break loose and they forsure wouldn't be winning re-election.
