Which would you rather have?

Which would you rather have?

  • Total voters
    32
  • Poll closed .
If I can have 125k to myself and pay 125k to help fund stuff like schools, roads, and other infrastructure then I'd be happy to do it. 30k income isn't very much these days.
I'd be happy with 30k, I don't even make that.

Its still a really really STUPID poll

Then give a really stupid answer. Remember if you don't answer I will guess at what you would have chosen and I will give you an F.

So far there are 18 people who have made comments but failed to vote:

Beaudreaux
digsbe
ernst barkmann
FederalRepublic
Gipper
jamesrage
Kobie
lizzie
Lovebug
Lursa
maquiscat
pbrauer
Pos
RiverDad
Shadow Serious
TurtleDude
vesper
X Factor

I hope that they will vote really soon. Most people are voting for Option B. We need more A votes so that it isn't a complete landslide. We need some Libertarians to vote in this.

the poll is not a fair poll, a blind man can see from 10 blocks, under A you going to have 30,000 and B your going to have 125,000....anyone would working in the own self interest would want the latter.

I'd vote option B. I'd rather have more money. Although it's still unjust and unfair for the government to take 50% of that.

Outstanding post!!!

God, I love reading your posts, especially those like this one, that go straight to the heart of the issue without any fluff or pretense.

Well done. Again.

This is a reminder to some of you that have not voted in this poll. The poll is closing soon.

SO you wouldn't mind 3/4 of your labor and time doing that labor going to someone who didn't earn it?

Yes. I would hate it passionately. Considering the choices given. I would have to go with Option B. Btw: You haven't voted in this poll and it is about to close.

And you cannot see the difference between $30,000 and $125,000?

You didn't.

Kobie, Lovebug and Lursa; Have you voted yet? This poll is closing soon.

I don't vote in poison pill polls but B would make sense mathematically.

You seem to be in the minority.

I would choose:

C) A $250,000 income with a 0.00 tax burden

Duh, I misplaced my calculator.

Are you guys doing pretty good tonight? This poll is going to close soon and I wanted to give you a chance to vote.

There aren't any.

In 42 minutes it will be all over. That is when I will begin compiling my final list of people who commented in this thread but failed to vote. They will all get a grade of F but that is not all. I will always be guessing at what their answer would have been if they would have voted. You are not as safe as you might think. Do you really want an F? Do you really want me to proxy vote on your behalf? It isn't exactly fair.

I can't tell if this is serious or not.. Would anyone really settle for $95,000 less dollars AFTER TAXES? I would still rather have 250K with 125K after taxes than 125K with no taxes, because the first gives self satisfaction of helping create a better society than the latter does.

Does it? Given that it's a world where you can't work your way up from the 30K position do you really think the taxes will be well spent?

Haven't you heard? Taxes are bad. All Libertarians (if they are honestly Libertarians) will be voting for Option A. They lying scum bags who pretend that taxes are bad but really don't feel that way will be voting for Option B.

Since the grade has no affect upon anything other than your mind and it will be obvious that the vote is actually yours and not mine...no there really aren't any consequences of note.

I have been here 8+ years. Thousands of likes. You have been here less than a year. You are the student, I am the master. you don't have the credentials to grade most of the posters here. YOur silly poll doesn't have sufficient information.

Yes, because without taxes all publicly funded organizations that benefit us every day will slowly deteriorate, thus leading to a much more dangerous and unstable society. Pay now, benefit later.

Best post in the thread.
Testify, brother! Let the petulance ring out!

petulance really has no relevance here

now as to the OP-yes

First off use quoted posts as you are a few posts away and it's hard for people to know who and what you are responding to.

the existence of taxes does not automatically mean that the revenues generated from the taxes will be put to good use. Do not try to use the current state of the country or world in this mental excessive. It is obvious that the hypothetical world is not the same as our own. When asked the OP noted that one could not work their way up to higher pay with the $30K job. So if that particular principle of our world isn't in play why do you assume that responsible use of tax money (something that is only partially in our world and country) would be occurring?
