MAGA loves to talk about Common Sense. They proclaim how they use it. Sadly the last three months have demonstrated that they are missing a vital component.

Common Sense requires Common Knowledge. A modicum of basic understanding. Some basic knowledge that should be learned by the time you enter High School for the most part.

Today’s example. Representative Harriet Hageman. A Republican from Wyoming. Rep. Hageman said we have to take over the Gulf of Mexico because Mexico has been dumping raw sewage into the Gulf near San Diego.

Those of us who have ever looked at a map of the United States during Geography Class are now reaching for our extra large bottles of Tylenol.

You see we know that San Diego is about 1,200 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. There is a few States in the way. Arizona. New Mexico. Texas. Some mountains. The Grand Canyon. Winslow Arizona where a Woman drove a Flatbed Ford.

Without this basic foundational knowledge Common Sense is impossible to achieve.

You are forgetting that Ms Hageman is probably fully aware that the maga cultists will have zero idea of the actual geography and will automatically be outraged about Mexican sewerage hitting San Diego beaches. Maga leadership know that they can safely create hate and outrage to feed the maga mindset without having to worry about any maga fact checking or rational thought being applied. Trump has proven that over and over!
