Very small world. I had cousins in Shavertown.

I worked on a couple of family dairy farms throughout my childhood.

Small world indeed! Pizza Perfect pizza in Shavertown is my absolute favorite pizza in the entire world! (And I happen to think their wings are also some of the best!)

I grew up in Wyalusing Township in Bradford County. Didn't exactly have much of a choice of restaurants back then. Just going to McDonald's meant a trip to Towanda, though they have one in Wysox now. I think Wyalusing has a Subway and a couple of mom & pop places, but that is about it.
 
I grew up in Exeter Twp, Luzerne County. (I think the population is at an all time high of around 2K now )

My family had hunting cabins in Wyalusing. I’m familiar (vaguely) with the area.

I named a cat Towanda - we found her there as a stray kitten

The nearest grocery store to me was either in Tunkhannock or West Pittston….easily 10+ miles and in bad winter or if the Susquehanna came out of the banks? LOL

But we did have one little Mom and Pop breakfast/lunch “restaurant” (really a diner) in my “town” right on the Susquehanna River. It was originally a gas station/restaurant but eventually they closed the gas pumps.

Public schools in Surrey, British Columbia. It was a great place to be a kid in the '50's and '60's, small neighbourhoods separated by bushes and farms. The high school I went to had about 750 students but the place grew, the city came in like a tide that never went back out.
My son went to the same school but there was over 2,000 students by then. And several new highschools in Surrey.
 
Mostly public in Maryland with a stint in a Christian private school. Mom wanted God in my life: I wasn't a troublemaker, she just wanted what some on this board want for their kids, to have God first over education. Then I showed her the level of education I was getting, which was teaching sixth grade in an eighth grade classroom. Then I related what was going down in the school: four-hour prayer sessions where we were "encouraged" to tell everyone their families' dirty laundry and then to pray over it. Then there were the indoctrination classes where we were told that all other religions were evil...Judaism was one such religion that was the work of Satan. The four sons of the principal (who was also the preacher of the church associated with the school) were always ratting other students out and had the authority to break up groupings of students when they occurred, like a little moral police force. Then there was the time they tried to take my King James away, not understanding that it wasn't their property. I could go on, but I think you guys get the idea.

Ever since, I don't trust organized religion. It's bullshit and they pervert the word of God to their own ends. Megachurches? Nope, centers of bullshit prosperity gospels that will send you straight to hell. In case you couldn't tell, I don't have a problem with God and Christianity...I have a problem with Christians.
 
K-12 public school in upstate NY (Schenectady). Moved to a better part of town when I started 6th grade. I remember having nightmares before the move due to fear that I wouldn’t cut the academics. Turns out the biggest problem was that we were generally broke so I couldn’t afford to do a lot of stuff the other kids did.
 
Private schools in Dublin and London.

It’s true. Private schools in Britain are referred to as public schools and public schools are called state schools. Didn’t know why so looked it up:

 
I went to a mix of public and private, my wife went to a private, and our kids went to a private STEM academy after elementary school.
 
Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, at the time considered among the very best in the nation.
A one year stint (7th Grade) at a private "quasi-military" school in Northern Virginia because my father was convinced I lacked discipline.
That private school was really just a babysitting operation for very entitled wealthy kids and I was back in the public school system the next year.
No matter, my grades at the babysitting factory were still good anyway.

I should have graduated in my junior year but by that time I was chasing girls and being a motorhead so I wound up having to take two morning classes for my senior year.
I regularly skipped the second one but aced it anyway...and I spent my time working at a factory that manufactured the world's first modems, which were almost the size of a small microwave oven.

A gap year (1975-1976) followed by CBS owned Brown Institute in Minneapolis MN, then after I moved to California, film and TV classes at UCLA.
 
Shit public schools

Typical troublemaker kid along with my friends, was even suspended in 5th grade for cursing out teachers(repeating offenses too). By HS or so I had evened out and had a fine time I suppose, above average grades but nothing crazy.

Long story, short. Public schools 'til 7th grade, Reform school age 12 to 16. Quit school at 16. Took GED at 30, by request of employer.
 
Catholic grade school K-8. Public high school 9-12.

The high school was brand spanking new so my freshman class was the first class to attend all 4 years there.
