Why wait for the mob. Im waiting for the people being attacked to decide they have the same authority as the mob and start handing out their own justice. Yes, I do believe that this was the case, that it was his performance which caused no team to pick him up.

It is reasonable to suspect that sensing his fortunes were about to turn for the worse, that he made himself a spectacle, to remain relevant.

He's not the first football player who's performance was not competitive, and he certainly won't be the last.
