You dont need to do good works to qualify for the afterlife. There is no hell, only different vibrational dimensions (called astral planes). A good place to start learning aboot afterlife is this place: http://channelingerik.com/

When you die you go to the dimension that most mirrored your life while you were here on earth.
The number of astral dimensions is infinite (meaning they go on forever).

Well, I believe a lot of people will not go to heaven, not even me...we will live right here on the earth, as God originally purposed, but if you are talking about everlasting life, then no, according to John 3:16,36...

That person gets a pass. Then there's everybody else.

I do not believe in hell. And yes I am a Christian
The concept of hell was added to the Bible so the religious leaders of that time could control their flock better.

Still works very well to this day for a lot of catholics and christians

The simple answer, as my reading of scriptures leads me to believe, is no.

To explain the simple answer, I am assuming that "does not believe in God" means that he/she does not truly believe in his/her heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross in his/her place for his/her sins (in other words, choosing to reject God's redemption gift). The words following "does not believe in God" describe various good works, which should be recognized and encouraged, but those good works alone will not affect that person's eternal fate.

My belief is that a person's soul will eternally live either inside God's new perfect creation (new heaven, new earth) or outside of it ("Lake of Fire", which is not hell... The "Lake of Fire" is the final destination for all beings who rebel against God and do not accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Redeemer).

John 14:6. Heaven is a gift that God intends for all of His children, but you have to accept it. You can't earn it by helping others. It was already paid for by Jesus's Blood.

Not arguing over 1 verse, but do you take the Bible as the literal word of God?

Only God can make that judgement, but God also sees what is in ones heart and how they lived their life, I would say he does take them into the fold.

No.

Because there's no such place.

And neither do the believers, noble beings or scumbags, go to hell for the very same reason.

Except, of course, for the "living hell" that people create within their own lifetime and thus within that of others. But that's not a question of "going to", more a case of "being in" already.

And on that we differ. But that is what we as (somewhat/barely -referring mostly all humans) civilized people can do, differ and disagree.

Those who are written in the Book of Life only G-d knows their names.

There is an explanation however, to that headline.

However, he did emphasize there was a catch. Those people must still do good. In fact, it is in doing good that they are led to the One who is the Source of all that is good.

In essence he simply restated the hope of the Church that all come to know God, through His Son Jesus Christ.

"Just do good" was his challenge, "and we'll find a meeting point."

The Holy Father was not teaching anything new. In fact, this hope that all who do not yet know God are not only capable of doing good - but will progress toward that knowledge of God by doing good - is ancient.
Pope Francis says atheists can do good and go to heaven too! - Living Faith - Home & Family - News - Catholic Online

It is the hope that those who do good, will inevitable be drawn to Christ.

So what if they're not?

I guess vesper's post #19 probably covers it best.

God only knows.

Only God knows and it is God's decision. We have NO RIGHT to say anything about what happens to someone else's immortal soul.
We can say it, wish it, and hope for it, but it is none of our business.

What about people who lived and died (after Jesus) and never knew of Him? What of shear ignorance?
What of people who don't abide by "accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior"?

Thanks for considering you answers.

I don't believe God would have made us supremely sentient beings and expected us not to have an opinion about such things;)
