_____LOL ...Look at the bright side! You don't live in California where the State Government is the biggest winner in the game and, also, be happy that Jimmy Carter isn't trying to make a big comeback or sumthin'. It could be worse.
... a LOT worse.

A Primer On Gasoline Prices
In 2005, oil averaged $50.23 per barrel. Gasoline averaged $2.27/ gallon (retail ... nation-wide).
It's not a direct correlation .... (more like a 2-4 week lag, actually Gasoline Price Pass-through) ... but Crude closed at $64.28, today. Allow for a little seasonal fluctuation and do the math.

Mush the Oilfield Trash
_____
Back a few years ago when oil started to go up a barrel of oil was around $35.00 and a gallon of gas was about $3.00 a gallon.
WoW! What a $crewing we took then.
_______That was probably a local supply problem ... if it happened. Nationally, the only time gasoline has averaged near $3/gal; West Texas Intermediate was WAY over $35/bbl.
(42 gallons in a barrel)
