In the last month or so it has gone up about $.40 a gallon here in the north east. It has been nickle and diming us at a steady upwards stream each day.
+$.04-+$.05-+$03. Little jumps daily really add up.
Tonight it was $2.58 per gallon for regular.
Whats funny is how come the stock market is closed today but the price still goes up? Theres talk that gasoline could go up to $3-$4-$5 per gallon.
Whats the price in your area?

about $2.44/gal. kinda steep being it was around $2.10 a month ago.

Just paid $2.49 in Jersey.

Where is that damn Iraq oil we spilled our blood for??

LOL ...Look at the bright side! You don't live in California where the State Government is the biggest winner in the game and, also, be happy that Jimmy Carter isn't trying to make a big comeback or sumthin'. It could be worse.

... a LOT worse.

Anyway, ....

A Primer On Gasoline Prices

In 2005, oil averaged $50.23 per barrel. Gasoline averaged $2.27/ gallon (retail ... nation-wide).

It's not a direct correlation .... (more like a 2-4 week lag, actually Gasoline Price Pass-through) ... but Crude closed at $64.28, today. Allow for a little seasonal fluctuation and do the math. :)

Back a few years ago when oil started to go up a barrel of oil was around $35.00 and a gallon of gas was about $3.00 a gallon.
WoW! What a $crewing we took then.

Boise, ID. I filled up last Friday and it was 2.899 for premium. This is only the beginning of April, hopefully it doesn't get close to $4.00 this summer, but I won't hold my breath. :(

That was probably a local supply problem ... if it happened. Nationally, the only time gasoline has averaged near $3/gal; West Texas Intermediate was WAY over $35/bbl.

(42 gallons in a barrel)

$3.29 where I live. I lend my car a lot more if they promise to fill up the tank nowadays.
