What's behind this rift between Trump and India?

India has a largish population with growing consumer income.
Course, if you've resigned yourself to market status and leaving production to others, you wouldn't care much about trade with India. But if you have stuff to sell, well...

I know quite well how much we do with India.
But some people are very short sighted. I can't believe that it needs to be pointed out that India is supplying Russia with currency to keep the war going against Ukraine and killing people.

And in fact that trade has increased exponentially over the past few years.

So again I say f*** India. As we all should to all countries still feeding cash to Russian.

Because....

• India is a rising power
• India now has the largest population in the world
• India has an important strategic location
• US companies have spent years investing in India
• Economically, one of the few ways to contain China is to work with India

I agree that India buying Russian oil sucks -- but there are much more productive ways to handle that.

It's also super weird that El Jefe is letting Putin do whatever the f*** he wants, but NOW he's bashing India for buying Russian oil? As usual, this doesn't pass the smell test.

But El Jefe doesn't give a shit about actually managing relationships or boycotting Russia. All he wants to do is bully everyone -- especially if they are an ally.

India isn't trading with us. They're shipping is two dollars a good for every dollar we ship their direction. They absolutely block or agriculture which they have the highest need for and it's one of our most important exports.

They're working hard to keep Russia alive in this war. Intentionally or not.

Odd that all the same people concerned with support for Ukraine is also in support of increasing India's wealth.
