What if Trump scheduled another rally and/or demonstration, as an 'election integrity' protest, or if he's stumping for himself or another candidate?

What if it was on the anniversary of 1/6?

Would it be allowed? Should it? I think it would have to be, although authorities would probably be keeping a very close eye on the activities. Unsure of whether he should be allowed even though I think he would be. First amendment is very broad in regards to political speech, as it should be.

Sure. Just this time the CP should be sure to Ashli anyone breaching the line.
Yes, perimeter security should be much better executed. They could get a lesson from the security around the Minneapolis courthouse during Chauvin's trial.

Sheeit. 😱
When 'stumping for another candidate' it's always about Trump.
Always. 😆

The first amendment has limits-----------------can't yell "fire" in a crowded theater, etc...

There are many US cities that got stiffed by Trump for the costs of his rallies.
You would think that others would learn and refuse.
I wonder if there will be more refusals since he is out of office now.
Pure entertainment.

Yes he should, and then when his supporters DO storm the Capitol again, it will be interesting to read comments by all the Righties saying "Trump had nothing to do with this."
IN fact, doing so again would be the best thing for the midterms, and I don't mean for the Repubs either.

Other cities would be interesting, but this poll is specifically about another rally at the Capitol building in DC. I wonder if they could bill event organizers for the excess security costs.

Well it has to be allowed or else no rallies can be allowed there.

Im fine with it because my guess is it will be even more of a failed coup and insurrection if they try anything again. I dont want more bloodshed but that what will probably happen and justifiably so.

I like to think they wouldn't be dumb enough to try again.

me too but since they were dumb enough to do it the first time . . . there's obviously no limit to their stupidity lol

I know Trump is planning rallies all the way up to 2022 midterms for House members and Senate. He is having one tonight in NC where there are several seats up for re-election. Lara Trump, his daughter-in-law has hinted at running for the U.S. Senate in NC but hasn't officially announced. Despite not announcing, she is the favorite in the polls. Who knows, maybe this rally will be about Lara officially announcing her candidacy.

So long as security treats it like it could turn into Insurrection 2.0 at the drop of a hat, sure.

This is the correct answer.

And no guns allowed by the demonstrators. Zero.

One other thing. None of them get to get anywhere near the White House or Capitol. That includes any GQP Congresspeople who join them, who must clear a full security check before being admitted back onto Capitol grounds.

I chose it wouldn't be allowed, but it should read, It shouldn't be allowed, because I don't know if they could legally prevent it. They ought to be able to, though. T**** & Friends blew it big time the last time they rallied in DC and considering that the message has not changed one bit since then, why in hell would DC permit them to come back?

Trump can hold it on his New Jersey property or at Mar a Lago if he wants, and send the little darlings home to share selfies. They, and he, should not be allowed anywhere near DC ever again.

IMO it should be allowed. First Amendment freedom of peaceable assembly and all that don't ya know?

Do try to recall there were over 50,000 people at the original rally, and only a fraction of that peaceful crowd left 30 minutes before the speech ended. IMO most hoping to be better positioned at the front for when he was supposed to speak there. Only a fraction of that fraction acted "badly."

However, personally I don't think he should do so.

I wouldn't attend or support it. IMO his time has passed, and someone else should take the lead in the fight for American Exceptionalism.

I think deep down inside the Republicans wish that Trump would stop talking about the 2020 election and just let things play out quietly. Trump rallies would be just what the democrats would hope for as they will serve very nicely in reminding voters why they didn't vote for him.

I think you wanted the second option. He would be allowed to, but he shouldn't. I tried phrasing the questions different ways and this was the best I could do, apologies for the confusion.

Are you sure he would be allowed to? That's why I didn't choose option 2.
Is there something special about DC that requires they say yes?

Including full body cavity search!

Every American has the right to freedom of speech. Trump should be allowed his rally. And if it, him, or his supporters turn criminal, bust their damn asses! Give no quarter!
