It is not with our mortal bodies that we enter eternity but with our spirit and soul.
the spirit given by God returns to him at the end of our Earthly Journey as stated in
Ecclesiastes 12-7

God elbows the Devil while laughing and pointing, I assume.

When you die, you're dead. It's not tensor calculus.

and yur soul ???

sure the body is dead, the real YOU is your spirit inside.

here let me help you....

well yeah if you wanna split hairs.

currently those who are alive ARE: spirit, soul and body

your body is part of you till you die, then God will give us a new body to live with him forever.

now i am being more precise, but a little beyond the 3rd grade i normally dish out on this forum...

0001_08.gif...again, Cartoon man has the Rude awakening that keeps getting worse and worse.

that's why i print these Tunes for those who may not have considered the Truth and make it up as they go along. very common thing to do even in church, but you could be Wrong.

better off finding the Truth, so you are ready to meet God. Cartoon man is not ready for anything and God is gonna throw him in the hot Toaster for good.

may wanna find real Bible church and start a new life there, instead of going the Cartoon man route that most will tread.

Jesus said 'few there be that find the narrow way to Eternal Life'. most are going to Live the Broad easy sinful way of this world and lose their Soul in the End like Cartoon man.

And Ezekiel 18:4? "The soul* who sins is the one who will die."

Dozens of Bible verses refer to the soul as being mortal. Here are some examples:

“The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”—Ezekiel 18:4, 20, King James Version.

In ancient Israel, the punishment for the most serious offenses was that the “soul shall be cut off.” (Exodus 12:15, 19; Leviticus 7:20, 21, 27; 19:8, King James Version) The person would “be put to death.”—Exodus 31:14, King James Version.

After a person dies, the literal term “dead soul” is used for the corpse in some Bible verses. (Leviticus 21:11, footnote; Numbers 6:6, footnote) Although many Bible translations use the terms “dead body” or “dead person” in those verses, the original Hebrew uses the word neʹphesh, or “soul.”

Where belief in an immortal soul comes from

Christian denominations that believe in an immortal soul get this teaching, not from the Bible, but from ancient Greek philosophy. The Encyclopædia Britannica says: “Biblical references to the soul are related to the concept of breath and establish no distinction between the ethereal soul and the corporeal body. Christian concepts of a body-soul dichotomy originated with the ancient Greeks.

God does not condone merging his teachings with human philosophies, such as belief in an immortal soul. Instead, the Bible warns: “Look out that no one takes you captive by means of the philosophy and empty deception according to human tradition.”—Colossians 2:8.

this IS a DEBATE forum, kinda what we do here is TALK about the bible.

it IS ok to debate and have Different opinion, although mine usually is a good opinion.

jump in Jane what do you have? most of this is Boilerplate or 101, so fairly easy.

Judge now lest ye be judged.

um Jane: study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

and here from my AI Bot friend, (same thing, but why not.)...

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

Judge NOT lest ye be judged

Judge NOT lest ye be judged

how do you apply that with the WHOLE council of God where he wants us to Judge certain things.

"The Encyclopedia Brittanica says................"

On one hand you're saying God does not condone merging His teachings with human philosophies.................but then, you give us the Encyclopedia Britannica as your reference! :)

Who do you think wrote that encyclopedia?

Which is Authoritative? That encyclopedia............................ or the BIBLE?

Lol - so why do you believe the Encyclopedia Britannica?
What it says, contradicts the Bible.

It's irrelevant if pagans believe the immortality of the soul!
It doesn't negate what the bible says!

You should ask - why do pagans believe the immortality of the soul?

There are many references in the Bible regarding the immortal soul.
Let me just give you the very basic.
These verses that connect, and corroborate with one another:

Genesis 2:7
Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.

Ecclesiastes 12:7
And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and
the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Job 3:8
But it is
the spirit in man, the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.

Psalm 146
3 Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.

4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.

The breath of God is what gave life to the form of man which is made from dust. Without God's breath, there wouldn't be life.
God's breath is the soul of man.
At the time of death, God's breath (soul) leaves the body and returns to GOD.

Why wouldn't the soul stay with the body?
Because the soul is not made from dust!

Matthew 10:28
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

1 Thes 5:23
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may
your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Rev 6:9

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne.

The Principles of the Universal Whore
Harlot 2:23-31
And lo, I saw Her. Great mother, vast eater of all. She made us to destroy us. She is creation, she is annihilation. She created that she might ****. And it was good, and she touched us, and then we slept. In the morning, She said, "Go now, and take your laundry with you." This is the word of the Lady.
