GB News viewers more likely to wrongly believe net migration to UK rising, study finds

A larger proportion of people who frequently watch GBNews wrongly believe that net migration to the UK is increasing than
those of other major channels, according to a study examining public attitudes to broadcasting impartiality.

The research was done by Cardiff University and interestingly, a huge proportion of respondents were against politicians presenting current affairs programmes and this includes a high number of GBNews viewers (many of whom are Reform fans) where Farage has his own regular show.

The point however is that GBNews broadcasts unreliable information and many hard right fans fall for it. GBNews is not however allowed to broadcast on the main airwaves in the way BBC / ITV / Channel 5 and Channel 4 are allowed to so they don't have to obey neutrality laws in their news. This also means that GBNews is free to broadcast one-sided take on most issues and there is no alternate viewpoint on offer to those who already are fans of the views being broadcast to them.

For those outside the UK, GBNews sits alongside China Daily, Russian broadcasters in being direct to satellite or internet type services where the neutrality rules don't apply.
